1983 Silver Spur LWB, 105k, I have owned this car since 2002 and after long consideration decided it is time that it must go.  It was purchased as a promotional tool and our marketing campaign has taken a different direction. As much as I love it I cant justify letting it just sit in the garage.

The exterior was redone about 4 years ago and it is black with no scratches, dents, fading or any other blemish of any kind. This body style was made until the late 90s and the only exterior difference is painted bumpers, euro square headlights and alloy and chrome center wheels, which this car has except the painted bumpers. The wheels and vogue tires cost me around $4500 about 6 years ago

The interior is the original tan leather, it is in fair to good condition, there are areas that no doubt show there age, but it is not unpresentable. The rear headrests and deck panel will need to be recovered because there is noticeable cracking. It has a nardi steeling wheel, a $1500 option

Mechanically the car runs well, it was always maintained and there are no major flaws, all the power works, occasionally the power mirrors stop and then start again, and I believe theres a rear window that does the same. It does have some minor leaks, but nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age. The rear air shocks were replaced a couple of years ago and the exhaust was updated a year ago along with a new battery and kill switch, just to mention a few items. Just a note about the car fax, it mentions a lien was placed in 2001 when I purchased the car but it fails to mention it was satisfied 24 months later when the note was paid off. The title is clear and free of any encumbrance.

You get in the car, it starts, it goes, the stereo works, the air and heat work. Is it perfect , NO, does it look and run nice, YES.  It has always been parked in a heated garage and was maintained. Please call 203.627.7636 for further information and it can seen at your convenience.

Ventilator built with help from Rolls-Royce receives approval in UK

Thu, Apr 16 2020

LONDON — Britain has given the first regulatory approval to a ventilator being built by a consortium of firms including Airbus and Rolls-Royce as part of efforts to combat the coronavirus. Governments around the world are trying to boost the number of ventilators — mechanical breathing devices that can blow air and oxygen into the lungs — available to their health services. The modified version of an existing device by Penlon will join a product from fellow medical firm Smiths, which is already being built by the group of aerospace, engineering, Formula One and automotive companies to fulfill a government order. “We are working closely with our supply chain partners to rapidly scale up production to achieve our target of at least 1,500 units a week,” said Dick Elsy, the chief executive of the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium. The government said on Thursday it was confirming an order for 15,000 Penlon devices. AirbusÂ’ Broughton site, which makes wings for commercial aircraft, along with FordÂ’s Dagenham engine factory and McLarenÂ’s Woking site are being used as part of the process, he said. Separately, vacuum-cleaner firm Dyson is still awaiting approval for its ventilator. Related Video:

Rolls-Royce planning plug-in hybrid

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Rolls-Royce is not the first marque you'd think of when it comes to environmentally friendly transportation. Its cars are big - often the size of SUVs - and pack ginormous twelve-cylinder engines displacing over six and a half liters. Those upright Parthenon grilles can't be very aerodynamic, either. But the way the wind is blowing these days, Goodwood will have to get with the program sooner or later.
It developed an electric version of the Phantom a couple of years ago called the 102EX and showed it to customers around the world. But people weren't interested, so Rolls-Royce killed the program. Not to be deterred, however, Rolls is now said to be working on a plug-in hybrid that would countermand some of the shortcomings - like range and recharging times - that killed the 102EX.
The technology would apparently be borrowed from parent company BMW which is developing it for the X5 eDrive and allow Rolls-Royce to reduce its carbon footprint and offer a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation to those who don't want to skimp on the luxury and prestige.
