Hi there,
Up for auction is our 83 Rolls Royce Silver Spur PARTS CAR. 75,000 miles, LOW MILAGE. NO RESERVE It was a daily driver up until about a year ago; at that time we were closing our automotive repair shop and the car was parked in a storage lot. Someone threw a couple chunks of concrete over the fence, to be clever I guess, and one broke the back window, another dented and scratched the trunk lid pretty good. We decided it would be better to part out the car because it was worth a lot more in parts than selling as a whole and we needed to thin the herd and free up some space. After a year of parting out random things here and there (not very proactively) we no longer have a storage lot and trying to part out this car in front of our house isn't going so well. This is a great opportunity for someone with the time and space to dismantle the car and sell everything, the engine alone should go for at least $1,500, control arms also go for that amount from the research I've done, Transmission, another $1,500, that already more then what we are listing this for. Engine ran flawlessly when parked and nothing has been taken off the engine, so its still all there and complete. See below for list of parts we have sold from the vehicle, the majority of the car is there. Body is very very straight, original white paint but was kept clean and buffed. Interior is red leather, sun baked and normal wear and tear for a car of this age. Seats would need to be redone if going into a nicer car. Everything is functional, nothing was broken or not working when it was parked. Honestly it was a mistake to start taking this car apart, it was beautiful and mobbed in the rain, couldn't hydroplane this car if you tried, at least here in Santa Barbara. You could technically find the missing parts, if you are looking for a project, and restore this to its original beauty, never been in an accident as far as I know and like I said super straight. But it would be much much easier to just turn it into loads of profit parting it out piece by piece.
SOLD AS IS - FOR PARTS ONLY - Car has broken back window, dent in right rear door, and trunk lid, missing steering rack, fuel pump, grille, flying lady figure, hub caps, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, interior carpet, misc body parts such as 2 door handles, glove box door and latch, speedometer, misc panels from dash area, one window regulator, window switch, ignition switch and key, catalytic converter. Message me for particular parts, there might be a few more missing, but no major components, and nothing from the engine. Small rust area along back window seal, paint is original white, no major chips or scratches, has been buffed quite a few times, body was kept in great condition, was a daily driver. Interior is red leather, which has sun damage and is cracking. Wood trim on doors and dash have the top layer cracking/peeling. Body is very straight. Ran when parked about a year ago, no engine parts are missing. mileage 75,000 miles. Again AS IS condition.

Custom Rolls-Royce Rose Phantom is a private garden party for two
Wed, Dec 11 2019What a Rolls-Royce customer wants, a Rolls-Royce customer gets. An entrepreneur from Stockholm, Sweden, named Ayad Al Saffar recently commissioned this bespoke Phantom with the dream of being enveloped in an elegant floral arrangement. Using a rose garden at the House of Rolls-Royce as inspiration, designers shaped more than one million embroidered stitches into an entanglement of greenery, flowers, and butterflies. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Muller Otvos calls it the Rose Phantom. Apparently, the person who ordered this Phantom likes flowers so much that he named two of four children after plants. Now, a personal garden goes anywhere the car goes. The custom order was a natural fit in the Phantom, as the Rolls-Royce Rose Garden in Goodwood, West Sussex, is the only place in the world that grows the Phantom Rose, a flower created exclusively for Rolls-Royce by British rose breeder Philip Harkness. The customer's daughter Magnolia chose the Peacock Blue exterior on the Phantom. Embellished with a touch of flair, it has a Charles Blue double pinstripe along the beltline, as do the wheels, which are meant to mimic a floral design. The simple and stately exterior makes the interior stand out all the more. Inside, satin stitch Phantom Roses adorn the doors and the starlight headliner. The design shows the flowers in multiple stages of growth and is intended to portray a floral net spreading throughout the vehicle. Even the driver gets to enjoy the foliage, as the glass-encased dashboard has its own bouquet. A final touch uses Peacock and Adonis Blue butterflies to add a bit of motion to the scene. The cabin scheme inverts the exterior colorway and uses Charles Blue leather Serenity Seating with Peacock Blue piping. Al Saffar says it took him 35 years to achieve his dream of buying a Rolls-Royce.
One-off Boat Tail is the tapered tip of Rolls-Royce's coachbuilding iceberg
Thu, Jun 24 2021Rolls-Royce is open to taking additional requests for one-off cars from its wealthiest clients in the coming years. It doesn't plan to make coachbuilt vehicles the norm in order to maintain their exclusivity, however. Rumored to cost nearly $30 million, the Boat Tail (pictured) introduced in May 2021 demonstrated what the BMW-owned British firm is capable of when money is truly no object. It's the product of a four-year development process that presumably cost several million dollars, and it was built at the request of three anonymous clients. It's the first car made since Coachbuild was promoted to a standalone division with the group, and it's very likely not the last. "Our idea is to maybe do one project every second year. Whether it's three cars or one car will hinge very much on the idea of the clients, and also on our appetite for doing it," explained company boss Torsten Muller-Otvos in an interview with British magazine Autocar. He added Rolls-Royce has the luxury to turn down requests it doesn't like. Precisely what will receive the firm's proverbial green light for production hasn't been specified. We're guessing future one-offs will need to adhere to the company's image, so transforming a humble Fiat 500 into a luxury car, Aston Martin Cygnet-style, is probably very low on the firm's list of priorities. Regardless, one-of-a-kind models won't roll out of the Rolls-Royce workshop on a weekly basis. Executives want to keep them "very rare," the CEO added, even if they receive numerous requests. Supply won't necessarily keep up with demand. What comes next depends on what customers request (and are willing to pay for). Rolls-Royce is open to experimenting with different body styles and different powertrain types, including a fully electric system. It's reportedly working on its first electric model, which could be called Silent Shadow when it enters production, and this foundation could be used to make a coachbuilt car if a customer commissions it. "There is no intention to boost any volume, because the intention clearly is to create projects that are significant for the brand's history in 70 or 100 years or so, and that are truly unique pieces. That also fits quite nicely into the heritage of Rolls-Royce with coachbuilding projects in the 1920s and the 1930s," Muller-Otvos concluded. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. A 1985 Ford Escort for $915,000? If it was owned by Princess Diana
Sun, Sep 3 2023What makes a used car worth more than the car itself? If it was owned by John Lennon. Or Muhammad Ali. Michael Schumacher, perhaps, or Stirling Moss. This year’s edition from the Hagerty organization of its “Power List” makes for amusing reading even if youÂ’re not on it. But you can make believe that you are. Essentially, the list, which was launched only last year, tracks the impact of celebrity ownership of a vehicle on its value, as measured by its worth at auction. Nearly 400 sales of celebrity cars and bikes have been analyzed from around the world by Hagerty using market data and “expert” analytics. Hagerty is aware, certainly, that famous folks — from royalty, sports, movies and music — grab gobs of attention from ordinary people. ThatÂ’s why the 2023 Power List comprises these categories: Art Cars, Racing Drivers, Movies and TV, Musicians, Royalty, Screen Stars, Sporting Icons. But you don't have to be a rock star or a F1 pilot to get listed: Princess Diana, besides an Escort Turbo RS that she owned between 1985 and 1988, numbered a convertible 1994 Audi 80 Cabriolet and a Jaguar XJS Cabriolet among her rides. HereÂ’s a look at some of the more notable entries: Racing driver category: In pole position was an unlikely titleholder, a 1976 Ford Bronco. This was the car bought new by legendary Canadian Formula 1 driver Gilles Villeneuve and untouched since his death; it sold at the Aguttes auction in Paris last December for $148,000, a huge 210% increase over the $47,800 that Hagerty would value a regular example in the same condition. Just a note: The list doesnÂ’t include race cars, only vehicles kept privately by the drivers. Musicians: A 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow had been Freddie MercuryÂ’s personal chauffeur-driven transport from 1979 until his death in 1991. Without celebrity ownership, Hagerty would value the Silver Shadow at a lowly $9,500, a car that would take a lot of time, effort and money to restore properly. But add in MercuryÂ’s aura and bids ended at $362,500. “ItÂ’s no surprise that MercuryÂ’s car dominated our Musicians list on the 2023 Hagerty Power List,” the company said. Movies and TV: For those readers now emerging from hibernation since 1968, the news is that the historic Highland Green Mustang from “Bullitt” remains at the top of the Power List for the second year running.
