This incredible RHD 1967 Rolls Royce was purchased from Frank Dale and Stepsons in South London in 1982. Amazingly it was flown by Pan-Am Cargo 747 to JFK and picked up by the Rolls enthusiast lady owner and driven back to the Pacific North West. It arrived in New York with 78k miles on the clock, it now has just 88,070. Much historical paperwork authenticates this fabulous old Rolls and its mileage. This is a very rare early production Shadow low serial # SRH2350. It has all the 1967 period correct features not found even on some 68 models. It has picnic tables, quarter vent windows, chrome interior door pull handles, rear factory headrests, badge bar, original and working factory radio/power antenna etc. Other than having paintwork done due to bumps and bruises here and there, it's been serviced and is otherwise completely untouched over the past 46 years. This is an amazing project for anyone who knows and appreciates these early Shadows. The car was placed on blocks, covered and stored around 1995 and only re emerged about 2 months ago this year when the lady owner sadly passed away. With respect, she obviously loved this car from the day she set eyes on it. The body is solid as are the rocker panels. The front valance is rusted and replaceable with a newly available re manufactured panel, in fact just about any part new, repro or s/hand is available for these cars now. Every piece of original rubber weatherstriping is perfect with zero deterioration or damage, as is the original "Everflex" roof. There is no rust under the top, the floor, the trunk etc. The only other corrosion is a small dime side area on a rear quarter panel and a small patch low down by the rear mudguard and that's it! This car has a strong smooth running smoke free motor, the very rare "Hydramatic" 4 speed transmission (fitted to U.K. Right Hand Drive cars only) shifts through all the gears perfectly, all jacking tools, bag and battery box cover components are present but no tool kit or handbook. The car always starts up either by the key or by the under hood solenoid button as fitted to these early models. Coolant holds pressure beautifully with zero leaks, oil change and filter has just been done. It drives smooth with plenty of hesitation free power on the road. Please note this is a project car that will need at the very least proper servicing before being seriously driven anywhere! The exhaust system is blowing, the tires although "brand new looking" were new at 81k in 1983!! The brakes work but need servicing, some suspension parts require new seals, plus most probably hydraulic pump service/replacement etc. Interior is superb in every way. All windows work but need assistance going up. Driver power seat works, other has faulty switch. All other electrics work. Door cappings need re varnishing, wood dash is superb plus all gauges work exc clock, headlining, padded dash etc is totally original and superb. Cream/beige interior "Connolly" hide is amazing and superb as are the "Wilton" wool leather bound carpets complete with original drivers heel pad still in place. Nothing inside has been re colored re touched or messed with. Paintwork is old, dull and needs to be redone. Exterior chrome I would rate at a 5 out of 10. Radiator shell casing needs re soldering on one seam where the lead solder let go. So there you have it, I love this old car (anyone would) but it needs time and money spent on it by someone who knows Rolls Royce's. There is no reserve to make this totally unique one of a kind vintage Rolls Royce a very attractive and affordable project for just about any pocket book. Remember you are bidding on a 46 year old antique car that spent nearly 20 years in storage. Vehicle needs to be transported, has never even had USA plates put on it, serious buyers only, buyer responsible for shipping, low feedback or zero feedback ebay bidders must contact me first with your phone number before bidding or your bids will be cancelled, $1,000.00 deposit required within 48 hours of auction end from winning bidder, full payment required within one week of auction end. Odell Beckham Jr.'s custom Rolls-Royce hood ornament catches the true Spirit of Ecstasy
Wed, May 29 2019Odell Beckham Jr. hasn't even played a single game for his new team, yet he's already making a splash in Cleveland. Not for his play, but for his car. Images and video of OBJ's custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan hit the web this week, and it suits his larger-than-life personality perfectly. The Browns orange wrap is a minor piece in a grand package that includes a custom hood ornament that replicates his famous one-handed behind-his-head catch. Sorry, Spirit of Ecstasy. OBJ's career has been too impressive to be defined by a single play, but his 2014 catch against the Dallas Cowboys (seen below) is certainly a top highlight. Widely considered one of the greatest catches in all of NFL history, it has now been immortalized in a hood ornament of all things. But not just any hood ornament. It takes the place of the sacred Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy on his custom Cleveland-themed Cullinan SUV. And yes, it can still be hidden within the grille. This content is hosted by a third party. NFL players, and athletes in general, have been known to create some of the wildest custom vehicles we've seen, and OBJ's Double-R is no exception. Built by Dreamworks Motorsports in Roxboro, North Carolina, the Cullinan has an orange wrap, dark 26-inch Forgiato wheels with floating RR center caps, gloss black accents, and Suntek Films window tint. That's just the basic stuff. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Cementing his car as a truly unique piece are the sound system and the interior. Dreamworks built a subwoofer box to mimic the iconic Rolls-Royce grille, and the one-off starlight headliner was constructed just for this vehicle with a custom pattern. Plus there's that Spirit of Hubris up front. Whether it's a no from you, dawg, or it's a resounding yes, there's no doubt this thing will get people talking. Inspect the details in the gallery above. Navigating the road time forgot in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Tue, May 5 2020The Rolls-Royce Cullinan glides evenly over the rutted single-lane dirt road, barely unsettling its passengers. Nobody is speaking in the lush cabin, not even my normally chatty 7-year-old. All eyes are turned to the Delaware River gliding by, a dozen feet away, through a skim of skeletal hardwood trees. There’s no sign of humanity or habitation. ItÂ’s almost a scene in a movie. The Last of the Mohicans, perhaps. Today we are exploring the Old Mine Road, and it is making us think of ghosts. Its 104 miles of asphalt and dirt make up one of the oldest continuously-used roads in America, stretching from New YorkÂ’s Catskills to the Pennsylvania Delaware Water Gap. The Lenape are thought to have first threaded a path here in the 1300s. It is also a pathway wending its way through the NortheastÂ’s violent history, from bloody skirmishes between the original Native American inhabitants and European settlers to the Americans and Brits in the Revolutionary War. Little wonder that out here in the quiet, that history — and those ghosts — feel close. Amazingly, the 40-mile section in New Jersey that follows the eastern banks of the Delaware looks much like it did a hundred years ago. There are million-dollar views, but as part of the Delaware recreation area, no development is allowed. Instead of the gated McMansions youÂ’d expect less than 1.5 hours from New York City, we are greeted by silent forest and twin lanes of bumpy or shattered asphalt. ThereÂ’s a section of dirt and gravel, narrowing to a single lane. Easy to imagine hundreds of years of horses and mules stamping down the thin path. It is early spring and like everyone else, we have cabin fever. My wife, son and mother-in-law are sheltering-in-place at our country house in the Poconos. America is locked into a struggle with an invisible enemy. It seems a good time to get some historical perspective. If our ancestors lived and endured under harsh conditions, so can we. There is nothing inherently unsafe or socially unacceptable about taking a short road trip on a virtually unused road, so we pack a lunch of cold pizza and snacks, and pile into the leather-bound, environmentally-controlled cocoon of the Rolls. We make our way to Kingston, N.Y., where the road begins. IÂ’m finally going to drive the entirety of the Old Mine Road.  Our Barney-purple Cullinan is a rolling sanctuary, a movable fortress of social isolation.
Rolls-Royce Ghost counts 1001 Nights back to the 1970s
Wed, Oct 28 2015A Rolls-Royce should remind you of a golden age of motoring – cruising around the British Isles with a giant hood ornament pointing the way forward is, in some circles at least, the epitome of class. This latest special edition, however, revives another time and place altogether... one nowhere near as classy. The Rolls-Royce Ghost 1001 Nights edition takes its inspiration from the classic Middle Eastern tome, and throws in some unfortunate 1970s style for good measure. It's done up in a two-tone brown and orange exterior color scheme, for some reason unbeknownst to us, with hand-painted coach lines and Arabian-themed motifs inside and out. The Middle Eastern cues are one thing... the paint job, on the other hand, reminds us of an age when Goodwood was producing ostentatious boxes in questionable color schemes, powered by 6.75-liter V8s mated to three-speed automatic transmissions and producing power that Rolls-Royce referred to as "adequate." Of course, nobody is forcing anyone to buy this unfortunately customized Ghost. The company's Bespoke division will set one up for any paying customer just the way he or she desires. Just why anyone would desire this particular configuration, however, is beyond us. Still, we doubt the ultra-luxe automaker will have much trouble selling however many of them it produces at whatever price point it determines – such is the apparent demand for Rolls-Royces in the Persian Gulf region. After North America, the Middle East is the company's largest market. Last year the dealership in Abu Dhabi sold more units than any of the other 126 showrooms around the world. And that's not even including the other dealers in nearby Dubai and Sharjah (both in the UAE), plus additional showrooms in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and three more in Saudi Arabia – all carving up one of the most lucrative markets in the world. It only keeps growing, and Rolls-Royce reports that every last one it sells in the region has been customized by the Bespoke division. Related Video:
