As I write this listing, it "pains" me to have to do so.........but here we go:
This is a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 Club Cab Dually pickup with the rare 5.9L
12 valve cummins diesel engine and the 5 speed manual transmission. This
truck has been in our family since the day it was purchased off the showroom
floor in 1996 at Plainview Dodge in Plainview, Texas. My uncle first purchased
it brand new and owned it for 3 years and put 29,680 miles on it.......then my
grandpa bought it and has owned it until now and the mileage is 130, 848.......
I told my grandpa years ago that if he ever wanted to get rid of this truck, that
I wanted it........well, it just so happens that he and grandma have recently sold
their rv camping trailer that they used this truck mainly for and no longer need
the truck, so i figured that I was next in line to inherit this awesome pickup but
the timing of all of this couldn't be worse!........I am older now, and after years
of driving trucks over the road, etc, etc my poor old hip and left clutch leg has
taken a beating and I can't drive a manual transmission nowadays without
going thru alot of pain......so I can't use it now and this is the only reason that this truck is up for sale
today!
This rig has everything you want in a diesel pickup and more. Grandpa has
taken excellent care of it over the years. It is set up to tow either a fifth-wheel
trailer, a gooseneck trailer, or a bumper-pull trailer or anything else you can
think of. It was always garaged with his camping trailer and his maintenance
routine was second to none! (you look at the truck today, and its hard to believe
that it is 18 years old !!!)
I have included a CARFAX REPORT for you prospective buyers to show that
it has never been wrecked, etc, etc and to show the true documented history
of this pickup. It also comes with some extra's.......Reese 14k fifth wheel hitch
mounted in pickup bed..........a full size locking diamond plate tool box mounted in
pickup bed.............and a secondary exterior diesel fuel tank (45 gallons) that
is mounted in pickup bed as well. This vehicle is ready to roll and can tow just
about anything you have! ....It has 2 brand new batteries with 5yr warranty....
We had it professionally detailed, washed & waxed, and fresh oil change for
the new owners and it can be driven anywhere! ......Here are some of the other
specs and features: 5.9L I6 12 VALVE CUMMINS ENGINE, 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION NVG 4500, 2WD WITH DUAL REAR WHEELS, DANA REAR END,
ABS BRAKES, POWER STEERING, POWER WINDOWS, POWER DOOR LOCKS,
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER PLUG-IN, AM/FM CASSETTE STEREO SYSTEM, EXTRA
12V POWER OUTLETS, AFTERMARKET TRAILER BRAKE INSIDE CAB, TINTED
WINDOWS AND VENTED REAR CAB WINDOWS, 40/20/40 SEAT GRAY CLOTH,
REAR SEATING, 6 EXCELLENT CONDITION TIRES (80-90%) AND NEW SPARE TIRE AND
JACK, EXTRA SET KEYS FOR TRUCK, TOOLBOX, ETC., ALL ORIGINAL HANDBOOKS,
RECEIPTS, ETC FOR TRUCK, PROTECTIVE SPRAYED-IN BEDLINER, A 2ND SET OF
STRAP ON TOW MIRRORS, CRUISE CONTROL, OVERHEAD COMPASS/TEMP
CONSOLE, 35 GALLON STOCK FUEL TANK, CHROME DODGE WHEEL COVERS,
CHROME “WESTIN” STEP BARS, ICE COLD A/C AND EXCELLENT HEATER, LIKE
NEW DASH WITH CUSTOM DASH COVER (NO CRACKS OR DAMAGES AT ALL),
Clear texas title, ......THIS IS A RUST-FREE TEXAS TRUCK AND IT HAS THE VERY POPULAR CUMMINS ENGINE THAT IS PRACTICALLY 'BULLETPROOF" AND IS KNOWN TO GET OVER 800,000 MILES OR MORE IF MAINTAINED PROPERLY !! ...PLUS THE ADDED BONUS OFHAVING A 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION !!.....(WITH THIS ONE ONLY HAVING 130,848 MILES......ITS BARELY BROKE IN !!)
( I’M SURE THERE’S MORE I’VE FORGOTTEN TO MENTION OR LIST)
Now as you know, this is a "gently used "vehicle and is being sold as such,
so if your looking for a brand new truck.........you better go get you one of
them $65,000.00 rigs and don't waste your or my time.......but if you want
a damn good well taken care of used truck and want to save yourself a ton of
$$$$$..........then this truck is for you!......you won't be disappointed!
A couple of other things before I close.......this truck is completely stock
and the only modification that my grandpa did was he had cummins install
a fuel cam plate on the truck a few years back in which it increased his
horsepower from the stock 215hp to 330hp. (the original stock fuel plate
is in the glovebox should new owner want to switch it back.......but i doubt
you'd want to do that since it runs so damn good and has all the power
you'll ever need!)........the paint and interior are all good and above average
for a truck of this age......... there is a tiny rock chip in very bottom of
windshield that was repaired by rock chip place so that it will not grow larger or get any worse,
but it is hardly noticeable or in your sight of view.........there is a small area under passenger seat
that has some minor carpet damage where I believe something was spilled at one time,
but it is under the seat and not out in the open,it has a brand new texas inspection good thru 2015 and has a new registration to 2015.........i think that is everything I can think of about
regarding this truck........any questions, please call or email me.........the truck is both
being listed on ebay, craigslist, and advertised locally.......so we reserve the
right to end auction or shut down the advertising at anytime should the
right buyer arrive!.......good luck and contact me anytime day or night and
check out the photos......they pretty much speak for themselves!......You may reach me at 806-557-4698 or 806-570-7797 or email: JVBIGDOG01@MSN.COM
Also, this is a cash deal only!.........we are a private party- not a dealer....and we're not interested
in any trades !!...........our asking price is $13,500.00 or best offer....Thank you and God Bless !!)

A little over three years ago, we discovered a patent from Fiat-Chrysler that showed a pickup truck tailgate that not only dropped down like a normal one, but was also split into two swing-out halves. It appears to be a reality now, since one of the Ram 1500 prototypes shown above has just such a tailgate. The tailgate above does look a bit different from the one shown in the patent drawings. For one thing, it's not a 50/50 split in the middle. Instead, Ram seems to have opted for something like a 60/40, or maybe 70/30 split. We're not sure exactly why this is, but there could be a few advantages. For one, It probably allows for the use of the same or nearly the same handle as on conventional Rams, as well as the same badging. For another, if the tailgate operates as described in the patent, it might be possible to open just one side without opening the other, and having the shorter piece could offer some flexibility in tight areas where a larger half couldn't open fully. Testing alongside the split tailgate truck were some other Ram 1500s that had their tailgates completely covered. They did reveal some other cargo management features that should show up on the production truck, such as a return of the RamBox bedside storage compartments. One of the trucks also revealed some ribbed bedsides that would allow the positioning of a cargo divider just about anywhere in the bed. We expect to see the new Ram 1500 to be fully revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January. In the meantime, you can check out what we believe the production truck will look like, as well as everything we know about it, here. Related Video:

What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.
