2019 Ram 1500 shows chrome grille and more production parts

Thu, Dec 14 2017

We've seen the 2019 Ram 1500 running around in camouflage a few times already. This time around, we get a good look at some more production parts. This set of spy photos shows a production-ready chrome grille up front, with chrome wheels to match. The shots also give a peek at the Ram's tow mirrors. We've seen the rear end before – including a split tailgate – but these photos give us a good look at the new rear lighting. Previous spy shots also suggest that the Ram will mostly retain its steel body. We also suspect it to arrive with coil springs and an optional air suspension. Rumors suggest the possibility of a turbo-four version, hybrid technology, and even a possible competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor with a juiced-up V8. Look for the new Ram 1500 to take off the camo at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. Related Video:

2019 Ram 1500 truck Ram-o-rama: Many trims, options spotted on the road

Thu, Jan 25 2018

We'll give Ram credit. It provided an impressive variety of 2019 Ram 1500 trucks to peruse at the Detroit Auto Show. There was a Big Horn Sport, Laramie, Limited and Rebel, with both the Quad Cab and Crew Cab on display as well. We even got to see both five- and six-passenger interiors. However, all that variety still only scratched the surface of the 2019 Ram. To help flesh things out a bit, spy photographers recently captured a bunch of 2019 Ram variations testing out on public roads. With the truck unveiled, camouflage was unnecessary, giving us unimpeded first looks at a number of trim levels, bed/cab combinations and options. Among these are the base level Ram Tradesman, which features blacked out plastic grille and other trim. There's also a single pic of the Ram Lone Star, which is really just what they call the Big Horn in Texas (look for the badge on the tailgate). We also got our first look both Big Horn and Laramie Quad Cabs with a long bed. In terms of options, there's a Big Horn with small, basic wheels and a Limited with the new bi-LED headlight option (have fun with those, oncoming traffic). There's also a Ram Rebel with a different hood that's missing the extra vents found on the truck at the auto show and in previously published pictures. Perhaps this is an option, perhaps its just the wrong hood placed on a test mule. We'll see. In any event, we'll know a lot more about all the different variants as the new Ram keeps inches closer to its on-sale date. Ram truck owner who stopped lawbreaking teen joyride gets truck repaired for free

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Here is a story that should make you feel a little better about modern society. Bryson Rowley, the concerned man in Utah who put himself in danger to stop an out-of-control, joyriding teen, is getting his damaged pickup fixed free of charge.
It all occurred after a kid stole his grandfather's Hyundai Veloster. As part of a police chase, he went speeding through a park where children were playing and into a neighborhood. When it appeared that the pursuit was returning to the park, Rowley got into his Ram and drove into the little, white coupe instantly stopping it. However, after the collision, his truck needed a new front bumper.
People in the community have banded together to make sure that Rowley didn't have to pay for any repairs, according to Car Throttle. A company called Fusion Bumpers even shipped out a replacement to him. It's nice to see that people putting out a helping hand to repair the damage to his truck.
