Porsche 911 GTS gets Rennsport Reunion Edition

Porsche is taking over Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend to celebrate Rennsport Reunion V. In addition to some beautiful cars on display, it's giving the brand's superfans something extra special by unveiling the 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition there. Limited to only 25 examples, they're exclusively for customers in North America. As the model's name implies, this special edition is mechanically based on the 430-horsepower 911 GTS, and gets a manual gearbox and PASM Sport Suspension. Porsche Exclusive then applies special styling bits to each one. For the exterior, paint is a custom shade called Fashion Grey, with black-and-red decals applied to the hood, roof, decklid, and doors. To complete the fashionable look, gloss black adorns the radio antenna, around the LED headlights, the lower part of the mirrors, and 20-inch Sport Classic wheels. The interior offers some sportiness with carbon fiber dashboard trim, a SportDesign steering wheel, and 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus. A little extra flash comes from Carmine Red for the seatbelts, tachometer and much of the stitching. As a nod to the event, a Rennsport Reunion V logo is also on the center console lid. With such a low production run and a price of $149,330 with the $995 destination charge, this is a way to proclaim a serious passion for Porsche. The day began cold and clear. It felt like a perfect late autumn afternoon to flog the 2015 Porsche 911 Targa 4S on the backroads west of Detroit. So it seemed, anyway. An impromptu snow squall came out of nowhere, dampening the roads and our spirits, though the latter quickly were lifted as we began putting our German sports car through its paces. Quite simply, the 911 Targa 4S is up for almost everything. The all-wheel-drive system kept us poised and secure – it takes a bit to unsettle this 911 when all four wheels are clawing at the pavement. We still had 400 horsepower on tap, which is a riot to channel via the seamless PDK gearbox in any condition. Yes, this is a Targa, so even in the snow we dropped the top, cranked the seat heaters and had a heck of a good time. It's hard not to when you're motoring in something that starts at more than $120,000. Still, weather in Michigan can throw anyone a curve. We dealt with it, and luckily, you don't have to. Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.
