2008 Porsche Cayenne S Sport Utility 4-door 4.8l on 2040-cars
Depew, New York, United States
Selling my 08 Cayenne S. It is quite a beauty. Runs and drives excellent. Interior and exterior are excellent, as is the undercarriage. I thought Porsche did a poor job with wheel choices on all Cayenne's in this era except the Turbo models so I went and purchased a set of 20" Turbo wheels and had them painted black, the finish is very high quality and will last as long as a factory wheel, they are rust and chip free and look excellent.........this has really complimented the vehicle. Tires are also new. Just had the oil changed at Porsche. Driveability is as tight and solid as a brand new vehicle, not a singe rattle, clunk or squeak. Here are the flaws......there are a few very minor gouges that I have pictured, and a ding. These are barely noticeable, just pointing it out.....the thing is in rare shape for the miles. Also, the GPS antenna went bad very recently....it is showing zero satellites now, it is either a loose wire or it needs a new antenna, which is rather cheap. I do not use the Nav system so didn't really feel compelled to address this issue. And lastly, when doing the wheel swap we were unable to get the original TPMS units out of the original wheels due to them being corroded. I went ahead and installed the new wheels without sensors, therfore the light on the dash now stays lit. A new sensor kit would run about 400 installed. On the bright side the wheels do not leak any air at all, they were sealed properly. I understand this is a large purchase and am willing to cooperate with serious interested parties, can take additional photos of anything you would like to see, and also answer any questions you may have. Would also be more than glad to give my phone # to talk with you.

J.D. Power: Vehicle dependability at all-time high, Lexus and Porsche lead
Wed, 13 Feb 2013
Each year, J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners of three-year-old vehicles to find out what kinds of problems they have had experienced over the last 12 months, and then it uses this data to create its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. This means that the models in the 2013 study are 2010 model year vehicles, and J.D. Power rates each make as well as the top individual models based on how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
Debunking the idea that carryover models are more dependable than new or updated models, the 2013 study found that the average carryover model experienced 133 PP100, while all-new or redesigned vehicles for the 2010 model year had 116 PP100; vehicles that received minor changes fared the best with just 111 PP100. The overall average for all makes was 126 PP100, which is the lowest figure since the findings were first issued in 1989.
Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach package does 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds
Mon, 18 Nov 2013Porsche marketers are having a field day with the 918 Spyder after some last-minute tuning improved the car's performance. They now say that it's so fast it's already beaten itself. Let us explain: Using a Weissach package-equipped 918 as an example (which reduces the plug-in hybrid supercar's weight through the deletion of some interior items, more generous use of carbon fiber and magnesium wheels), the car's previous official 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 2.8 seconds has been cut to 2.6. Additionally, 0-124 mph takes 7.2 seconds and 0-186 mph is dispatched in 19.9 seconds, times that were reduced by half a second and 2.1 seconds, respectively.
In all-electric mode, a non-Weissach pack 918 does 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds (with the package, 6.1 seconds), down from 6.9 seconds. Efficiency is also improved thanks to the final tuning. The New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) rating of a Weissach pack-equipped car equates to 94 miles per gallon, up three mpg compared to before. That's pretty good for a car with 887 horsepower!
Check out the press release below for more details on how Porsche's final tuning measures improved its flagship supercar.
Porsche finally gives up the goods on 2014 Macan
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Preparing a beachhead in the marketplace for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover has been a years-long project for the German company. We've been hearing and reporting on rumors of the vehicle from its ideation stage and have covered the Macan's birth thoroughly over the last 12 months, including teasers, rumors, spy shots, leaked videos and more. Now, just ahead of the LA Auto Show-debut of Porsche's first-ever compact crossover, the wait for details is at an end.
Porsche will offer the crossover in two flavors to start: Macan S and Macan Turbo. The S model will be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower and will push the vehicle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, then on to a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The Macan Turbo has even more impressive figures on all fronts: an all-new, 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine; 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds; top speed of 164 mph. Both models make use of Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission as standard.
As impressive as these potent powertrains are the brakes Porsche is fitting to its new crossover. Six-piston monobloc fixed-caliper brakes live up front, grabbing 13.78-inch discs on the S model and tremendous 14.17-inch discs on the Macan Turbo. We're expecting serious stopping performance, to say the least.
