Every thing this car has ever needed, it has got. No expense ever spared . It was driven but never abused.
no dried out seals, or calipers. no high price for low mileage that disappears the, moment you start to drive a previous garage queen.no surprizes.
A complete list of maintenance  from 2004 when my son purchased it up to a couple of weeks ago is detailed on a spread sheet with invoices on file.
Since I have had it , I have had new tires installed, new windshield, new rear window, water pump, thermostat , belts, Air Oil seperator and total rebuild of transmission when 2nd gear sychro didn't sychro well.
Each oil change I have had done has been followed up with an oil analysis. Never any indication of any metals in the oil.

This car came from Southern California where it spent it's entire life.
Which is good and bad. It has been exposed to sun and sand. Some chip,s dealt with recently by Drcolorchips..
one door ding, not chipped but you can see it art an angle.
Wheels look pretty good, no major curbrash.
This car is a driver so concours nitpicking is not appropriate.

My son moved from southenr California to Greenwich Village and had no use for a car any longer. He said here dad , thanks for good life.
So Dad, that being me, had the car shipped east to York Pa.
I, being the Dad, drove it for a couple of years now, but it is the  fourth car for two people and my wife no longer drives manual transmission.
I found I was not driving my mid year 911 and my other sons 2001 Turbo which is garaged here in York
What a dilemma.
So I have made a decision to sell the Boxster. I said that last year and didn't follow through, wife reminded me, as it is such a great driving car.
But at 75 I need to start growing up. Damn.
I guess you can tell I am not a highly motivated seller. But I am selling.
Look at pictures, write with questions, I'll do my best to answer quickly.

Porsche 911 GT3 wows the crowds in Geneva

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Porsche has a long and storied history of taking its range-topping 911 sportscar racing, with an enviable record of achievements in tow. The latest machine with which the automaker will take to the track can be seen above: the fifth-generation 2014 911 GT3.
With 475 horsepower strumming through the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, this is the pinnacle of naturally aspirated performance from Porsche. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 195 miles per hour and has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than seven and a half minutes.
A dual-clutch PDK transmission (no standard manual gearbox will be offered) with shorter gearing than lesser 911 models sends power to the rear wheels. Providing forward motion isn't the only thing those rear wheels will be doing - Porsche says the 2014 911 GT3 is fitted with the manufacturer's first active rear-wheel steering.

Which is quicker in the standing mile, a Subaru WRX STI or a Porsche Cayman?

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2014 Porsche Cayman are both saddled with unfair reputations. The STI with its huge wing and gold wheels has the title of the ultimate boy-racer. On the other hand, Porsche brand snobs look down on he base Cayman as just a wannabe 911. In reality, they are both pretty fantastic performance cars. But what would happen if the two of them lined up at a stoplight, and maybe the guy in the suit in the Cayman started throwing some revs at the young man in the STI? Automobile decided to find out in a recent video pitting the two stereotyped hot rods against each other in a standing-mile drag race.
In terms of raw numbers, they are surprisingly close. Both use flat engines and six-speed manual transmissions here, but the Subaru has more power and torque. However, the Porsche makes up for it with 300 pounds less weight. Neither should have a problem with traction either thanks to the STI's sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup, and the Cayman's mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
The comparable specs certainly show themselves in the real world for the race. We're not going to give away the winner here because it's too exciting, but let's just say the finish is very, very close. Scroll down to watch both of them shrug off their stereotypes and show off their real performance.

The mid-engine Porsche backstory

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors - heritage (Mercedes-Benz), image (Lamborghini), or market share (Toyota). In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait.
Porsche would not have survived - let alone, thrived - in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.
