2001 Porsche Boxster S

For the money, there is not a better sports car on the market. The amount of fun you can have in this car should be illegal. I'm only selling it to buy a newer one. I bought it at 62k miles in early 2010. It is a manual 6-speed transmission.

Changed the oil every ~7,000 miles, almost always garage kept, always cared for. It has been used as a daily driver so it's not a garage queen car, it has been driven but still performs very well. It has normal wear and tear for a car its age.

This particular car is decked out with options.

Options per the window sticker:
Full Leather Interior ($1,990)
Comfort Package ($2,090)
Self-dim Mirrors and Rain Sensor ($690)
Sport Touring Package ($2,870)
Headlight Washers (they don't work) ($225)
Wheel Caps with Center Crest ($170)
Xenon Headlights ($1,070)
Supple Leather Front and Rear ($355)

Additional aftermarket options:
Smoke Tail Lights (I think most people agree that the orange stock ones are ugly)
Smoke Side Markers (same as above)
New Radio/Headunit (The USB cord is wired through the center console so you can play your iPod/iPhone)

Parts that have been replaced recently:
Clutch (@ 103k miles)
New tires (Front @100k miles, Rear @90k)
Water Pump (@ 90k miles)
MAF (@ 90k miles)
Convertible Top Cables (@ 98k miles)

Issues:
Left cupholder doesn't work
Headlight washers do not work
Blemish on front bumper
Hairline crack on rear bumper (almost invisible, but it's there)
Exterior has small marks here and there, it is a 12 year old car after all.
Sometimes the convertible top light on the dash doesn't go off even though it is fully open/closed.

What hardcore 911 is Porsche working on now?

Thu, Apr 14 2016

Porsche has been spotted testing a new hardcore version of the latest 911. The prototype appears to blend the best elements from the recently facelifted 991.2 with those of the outgoing GT3 RS, which both follows logically and bodes well for the German automaker's latest track-focused performance machine. That means new lighting and other touches, but also more ventilation than a toxic chemicals facility. The bigger question, however, is what engine Porsche is hanging off the back. If history teaches us anything, we could be looking at one of several possibilities. For one, this could be a prototype for the updated 911 GT3 RS, carrying a modified version of the existing model's 4.0-liter flat-six, still naturally aspirated, but maybe with a few extra horses kicked in over the outgoing version's 500 hp. For another, it could follow in the footsteps of the previous limited-edition GT3 RS 4.0, but since the existing model already boasts that displacement, this one could go a step further at 4.2 liters. But then it might not be a GT3 at all: we could be looking at the rebirth of the GT2, the primary difference between the two being the absence or presence of turbochargers. Porsche hasn't done a forced-induction GT model since the GT2 RS of 2010, and that was essentially a 911 Turbo sans the all-wheel drive and any shred of sanity. Whatever is lurking under all that aggressive bodywork, we're looking forward to finding out. And we get the distinct feeling that it won't disappoint. Porsche reveals first Macan driving and manufacturing footage

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

One of the more anticipated offerings of the upcoming year, Porsche's sporty baby Cayenne, the 2015 Macan, has already earned nods of approval from a number of Autoblog staffers. We named it one of the top five debuts at last month's LA Auto Show, citing its 400-horsepower turbocharged engine and other sporty bits as good reasons to get excited about Stuttgart's latest.
And while our first test may be many months away, we're keeping our ears to the ground for any information on Porsche's compact crossover. We're especially keen on stuff like this - our first look at the new model in motion and undergoing assembly at its Leipzig plant. Both are shorter videos, and while there's little of the glorious engine noise we've already been teased with, the videos do offer a great look at the handsome Macan on the road, as well as glimpse at Porsche's state-of-the-art manufacturing operations.
Scope out the videos below and let us know what you think.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.
