This Boxter

I am a broker and I have been hired by the owner of this 1999 Porsche Boxter to present it for auction on ebay. I took pictures with my own digital camera. The pictures have not been photo shopped or manipulated. There are many photos that should help you decide that this is the Boxter for you. This Porsche has been in Southern California all its life. It has been well taken care of and maintained. It has always been garaged. The beautiful Porsche Red exterior paint just shines in the California Sun. The convertible top lifts up and puts itself neatly away with just the push of a button, how fun is that? This Boxter only has 23,203 original (stated) miles, its still new!! Starts right up, drives and handles as if you just drove it off the showroom floor. It's so quiet inside, you can hear yourself breathing. Standard AM/FM CD player stereo, sounds wonderful, even with the top down driving up the coast, you feel like you are the only one on the road. Clean title, clean carfax, no accidents. Maybe this is the Porsche you have been looking for, you never know, it could be with in reach.

Tell me about the Porsche Boxter

The Porsche Boxter is known for putting the engine at the mid section of the car for perfect balance and handling. Driving at 100mph seems to not skip a  beat as it  flies down the highway. Who knew that this sports car is pretty much easy on gas, not bad for a nice racy sports car. The lower center of gravity from the mid section engine, makes this car stable, very agile and responsive.Consumer reports published that the 1999 Porsche Boxter has the most engine reliability of other models from the past. They go on to say that the 1999 Porsche Boxter is the best value, dollar for dollar. It does well in retaining its value. The Boxter comes with a 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive. Interesting to note, it comes as standard an engine oil and transmission oil coolers. Safety items, such as air bags, heated mirrors, and roll-over protection all standard. So, where does the Boxter fit, in the competition? BMW?, Mercedes-Benz?, well, there are a few more, but I will let you decide, drive a Boxter, and it might be the car you're looking for.

Nick Murray's problematic Porsche 911 shows the power of a viral video

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

When Nick Murray took delivery of his 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in June 2013, he had saved for it for the past five years. He didn't just pluck a random 911 off a dealer lot. He specially ordered his car with thousands of dollars in extras tailored just to him, and he captured all of the options on his YouTube channel. The love affair didn't last long. Eventually the channel became a place for Nick to air his growing list of grievances about his deteriorating 911. Eventually, his mix of righteous indignation and sarcasm went viral.
By late December, he had already had four warranty repairs done on the car. Things got much worse in March. The computers began resetting whenever Nick drove over large bumps. There was also an acrid, electrical smell that occasionally permeated the cabin. Murray filed for Lemon Law protection. Porsche Cars North America contacted him for the first time to fix the problem, but it didn't help.
Things culminated in April when Murray put up a new video that showed more troubles. He began arbitration with Porsche and asked for either his full purchase price back or an exact replacement. The company countered with a portion of what the car was worth, based on its mileage. Murray refused and turned to his YouTube watchers for help. He asked them to spread the word, and the video went viral with over 800,000 views as of this writing. Supporters posted it multiple times on Porsche's Facebook and Twitter sites.

Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911s with limited edition model

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

Despite being 50 years old now, the Porsche 911 sure is looking good for her age. And to commemorate this milestone anniversary, Porsche has created the 911 50 Years Edition you see here, which will make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show - 50 years after the original 911 debuted at this very same expo.
What's really neat about the 50 Years Edition is that it houses a rear-wheel-drive setup inside of the wider body used for all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 and 4S models. Found at the back is the 3.8-liter flat-six from the Carrera S, upgraded with the Powerkit package that increases horsepower from 400 to 430 and includes the Sport Chrono setup. According to Porsche, hitting 60 miles per hour takes just 4.2 seconds with the seven-speed manual transmission, or 3.8 seconds with the optional dual-clutch PDK.
Visual changes include two special paint colors - a darker graphite grey and a lighter geyser grey - unique 20-inch wheels that pay homage to the original Fuchs rollers of the 1963 car, and special badging at the rear and on the door sills. Inside, there are more throwbacks to the original 911, with green labeling on the instruments, white pointer needles and silver accents. What's more, the leather seats feature a fabric insert reminiscent of the Pepita design from the '60s. Looks great to us.

Porsche's baby Panamera delayed until 2019 or later

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

If you're enticed by the idea of a Porsche sedan but find the Panamera to be too big, your hopes may have been raised by the development of the so-called Pajun. But don't get those hopes up too much, because the latest word coming in from the Old World has it that the Panamera Junior has been delayed.
The Pajun was (and theoretically still is, despite tardiness) a project to apply to the Panamera the same winning formula that Porsche used to transmute the Cayenne into the smaller Macan. Its size would be closer to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class than the larger Panamera, and employ an array of six-cylinder engines.
The smaller five-door was set to be the cornerstone of Porsche Product Strategy 2018, a plan that included several new models to be launched within the next four years. However, reports now indicate that the Volkswagen Group is counting on Porsche to help bolster its profits and is not keen on investing in new products at this time, pushing the Pajun and other projects back until 2019 at the earliest. Although much of the strategy remains undisclosed, it is believed to include (or have included) a sub-Boxster sports car and a supercar to slot in between the 911 and the 918 Spyder. There was also talk of a shooting brake version of the Panamera based on the Sport Turismo concept pictured above. What will become of those projects, however, remains to be seen.
