Selling a 1983 porsche 944 which has been maintained and taken care of throughout the years.
I personally don't want to get rid of it and think it's a lot stronger than the porsche 944s I own. Plus the gas mileage is a lot better. But unfortunately I fractured my hand and I'm not able to drive the manual steered car. I love the 83 because you don't have the power steering leaching off the engine. The engine is mechanical sound and runs really smooth. It has the originally exhaust pipe so it's really quit and doesn't sounds like the engine is on. The fans are louder than the engine. It passed smog with flying colors recently and just gave it a compression tests which is all up to spec. Before I changed the oil I couldn't help but notice the oil was still brown. The interior is 7 out of 10 due to the fact that the driver seat is pretty ripped up. The paint is showing some signs of wear. All the electrical components work and even the speedometer works with the miles.heater and blower works fine ac just needs to be recharged. Cooling systems works fine and both fans come on when needed. The only issue I believe should be looked into is it sounds like the throw out bearing might be going out. But all five gears shift smooth and the clutch feels new. Parts that has been replaced: Brand new iridium spark plugs New spark plug cables New coil New distributor cap New air filter New dme relay New dme temp sensor New throttle position sensor Head rebuild about 30k ago Replaced all the light bulbs on the car. And tons of electrical work except the passenger window which I was told needs a new relay motor works This car was amazing and has treated me well I'm more than happy for people to check it out and test drive it I'm sure that will sell it on the spot. I'll even show the difference between my 944s and the one I'm selling. This is a great holiday present for that grandson as a first car or surprise for a father. This car is priced to sell and the reserve is low. This car is on multiple websites so it will be gone fast. After the listing the buyer must give a 500 dollar deposit immediately via paypal. And rest will be paid in cash. If any problems occur I won't hesitate to relist. If any questions I'm more than happy to answer them through eBay |

Porsche 911 Targa leaks out ahead of Detroit debut
Mon, 13 Jan 2014With the doors of Cobo Center opening for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show this morning, Porsche is set to reveal its new 911 Targa in a matter of hours. But before it gets the chance, the first batch of images have already leaked out, courtesy of Chinese car site autohome.com.cn.
As expected, the new Targa appears to ditch the complex sliding glass roof panels that adorned recent versions of the semi-convertible 911 in favor of a more back-to-basics approach. An entirely removable roof panel opens up the sky, backed by a metallic B-pillar hoop in front of a large curved-glass rear window.
We'll have to wait just a little longer for the full scope of images and all the official details, but we're expecting the new Targa to carry most of the same technical specifications as the 991 on which it's based. Watch this space for more.
Paul Walker's father sues Porsche
Mon, Nov 30 2015Porsche will reportedly face another wrongful-death suit in connection with the death of Paul Walker. This latest suit, according to USA Today, was filed by the late actor's father and the executor of his will. In the suit, Paul William Walker III claims that the Porsche lacked the safety equipment that could have saved the life of his son, actor Paul William Walker IV. The case dates back almost two years, to the day when Walker and his associate Roger Rodas were traveling in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. Rodas lost control of the car, which struck a lamppost and two trees on Hercules Street in Santa Clarita, CA. A fire erupted after the crash and both Rodas and Walker (who was riding in the passenger seat) were killed. The ensuing investigation determined that unsafe speeds were at fault, however grieving members of the deceased victims' families have launched a series of lawsuits – including several directed against the German automaker – in the aftermath. Walker's father previously sued the Rodas' estate over the ownership of a collection of cars estimated to be worth some $1.8 million. Meanwhile Rodas' widow Kristine has also filed a wrongful death suit against Porsche. And just this past September, Walker's 17-year-old daughter and heiress Meadow filed another wrongful death suit, also against Porsche. In response to the latter, Porsche spokesman Calvin Kim wrote to Autoblog: "As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed." This latest lawsuit filed by Walker's father alleges that the Carrera GT should have been equipped with stability control, reinforced doors, and a breakaway fuel line – features that, the plaintiff asserts, could have saved his son's life. According to USA Today, Porsche recently claimed in court that the vehicle in question had been modified and improperly maintained. Those factors could have led to the accident that claimed both Walker's and Rodas' lives. Walker was an actor who made his debut in television before appearing in movies like Varsity Blues, The Skulls, and Flags of Our Fathers. He will perhaps be best remembered, however, as the star in the Fast and Furious series – the most recent installment of which was completed posthumously with the help of his brothers and computer animation. The California native was 40 years old.
Ferrari Speciale and Porsche GT3 make the trip to Le Mans
Thu, Aug 6 2015Call it a pilgrimage. Call it a right of passage. The bottom line is that every racing fan should make the trip to Le Mans at some point. All the better if you can do it in style, as Evo has for this latest video. Instead of taking any old car through the Chunnel and along the French countryside to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe, Evo made the trip in the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3. Both are more extreme versions of the already capable sports cars. They're still naturally aspirated, drive the rear wheels through seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions, and both won top honors in Evo's car of the year awards upon their release. And we could hardly imagine better vehicles for the journey. Along the way, the convoy-of-two stopped by the side of the old Rouen-Les-Essarts circuit. Back in the 1950s and 60s it was regarded as one of Europe's finest street circuits, hosting the French Grand Prix five times. It was closed down and paved over in the decades that followed, and is today part of a public thoroughfare – but you can still drive around it and see some of the relics of its former self peering through.
