A fine example of a classic design. This car has been a project of mine and has had some well sorted upgrades done so far. Black on Black on Black Cabriolet with a well documented service history. Car has 85,000 miles. All belts, rollers, and bearings done in the last 10,000 miles. The paint is not new but is in very good condition. No rust anywhere. New top and toneau cover with new cables installed. The interior is immaculate. Seats were recovered. The dash is perfect. Koni rear coilovers installed. Koni front inserts go with the car. I just haven't installed them yet. Wheels are BSA. 18X8 front and 18X10 rear. Falken tires with less than 5,000 miles. 245/50/18 front and 295/35/18 rear. Everything works. However, the clock in the dash gummed up this month. I have ordered a splitter and am waiting for it to arrive. They are made to order so, I am waiting my turn. Drivetrain is solid and this would do as a daily driver with no worries. I bought it with the intention of installing a LS1 but it is just too nice to not leave original. So, I am going a different direction. If I were to keep it, I would replace the clock, the windshield header is warped. It doesn't interfere with the function of the top or anything else, I'm just picky and would replace it. Also, the tripometer works but will not reset to 000. I would install the splitter and install the front Koni's. Also, I had to roll the rear fender lips to make room for the 295's. The paint cracked and should be redone. The rear fenders have excellent lines for taping off and repainting with out having to paint the whole car. I was quoted $500 to have it done. The A/C has been converted to 134a and works. Electric windows work. Electric seats work. This car will make an excellent DD or a good project to pick up and continue for an enthusiast. I still have the stock wheels with a new set of Cooper tires if you are looking to go original. I can put them back on and adjust the price accordingly. Thanks for looking! $250.00 deposit by paypal due upon winning the auction or if you buy it now. Remaining funds do at pick up.

New details mooted about Porsche's '988' Ferrari rival

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

We could be on the verge of a big expansion at everyone's favorite rear-engined German sports car manufacturer. Porsche is allegedly preparing a four-car assault that will be led by a proper challenger to the Ferrari 458 Italia (sorry 911).
Code-named "988," the new model will reportedly feature a mid-engined layout and, get this: a flat-8. Autocar, which has the story, expects that engine to displace about 4.0 liters, while the car itself will draw styling inspiration from the 918 Spyder. 600 ponies and over 400 super-accessible pound-feet of torque should be on tap with the new mill.
Joining the 988's supposed eight-cylinder is a new family of four- and six-cylinder boxer engines that Autocar claims will have a focus on power density and fuel economy. These new mills will be available in naturally aspirated, turbocharged and hybrid forms.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet refresh may hide new engine

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

If we learned nothing else from our recent frolic through Porsche's secret museum, it's that the automaker goes to incredible lengths to disguise future products during initial testing. Just as a number of cars in that Stuttgart bunker hid the true identity of developmental mules (like the Audi-V8-powered 911), such could very well be the case with these spy shots showing what, on the surface, appears to be simply a facelifted 991 911 Cabriolet.
Similar to what we saw last month on a 911 coupe, this Cabriolet has obvious styling modifications made to the front and rear fascias suggesting that the 911's still-fresh appearance is already set to get a few tweaks. The big news here is at the rear of the car. The additional vents on the lower edge of the fascia and the mocked-up vent above the engine leads our spy photographer to believe that a new engine could be tucked under the body work - likely a smaller-displacement, turbocharged flat-six focusing more on improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions rather than performance.
We last heard rumblings of such a detuned 911 back in August, but could this be our first look at said new model? Have a look for yourself, and let us know what you think - either about this mule specifically or the idea of a "green" 911, in Comments below.

Jaguar F-Type squares off against Porsche 911, Aston V8 Vantage with Chris Harris

Fri, 21 Jun 2013

Chris Harris is back on the job, taking on really really difficult car questions like: Which enormously sexy and good-to-drive, high-performance convertible is the top of the heap? As one of the hottest cars in the luxury space right now, the Jaguar F-Type S is, of course, in on the action. Competition comes in the form of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Sun-loving CEOs who despise test-driving need look no further.
Scroll on below for a fully featured (with a running time of more than 20 minutes) comparison video. Harris does his best to entertain - in a typically nitpicky and made-up-British-words fashion - and the moving pictures are lovely to look at. Kick back, pour a pint and get your weekend started off right.
