1986 Porsche 944 Turbo In Red on 2040-cars

For sale: Porsche 944 Turbo in Red. I bought this car off of Ebay a year and a half ago and it has been outstanding. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and the alternator up to this point. I have a box of parts I have nabbed off of Ebay when I found good deals so there are hoses, brake pads, fuel filter and other bits and pieces that I just haven’t had time to install. Selling it because I just don’t drive it as much as it deserves, and I have 3 other vehicles to maintain. As you can see in the pics, there are two minor dents, the driver seat needs to be re-covered. The paint looks great from 20 feet but there is some fading in areas. The steering rack leaks, but I did find that. There is a plastic cap that goes in the bottom that popped out and needs to be replaced. Mostly minor TLC that I haven’t got around to. The only major thing I can think of at this point is the Timing/Balance belts, I am not sure of the exact mileage on them but I have put about 10k on the car so that at least gives you an idea. Any questions, please ask. No warranty is offered or implied, car is sold as is. Thanks for looking! Adding in a few things I have been asked about: The tires are W rated Indy 500 Ovals with about 75% tread life, it has the original paint so there is some sun fading and clearcoat loss on the front bumper (see picture). Also the body is rust free and solid.

Jay Leno puts carbon fiber wheels to the test on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Thu, 04 Sep 2014Jay Leno's Garage usually focuses on looking at cars new and old, speaking to their owners and then Jay taking a drive to see what he thinks. However, Leno throws his usual shtick to the curb this week to do a full product test of the carbon fiber wheels from a company called Carbon Revolution. If you're not interested in hearing about wheels for 18 minutes, don't worry. They get mounted on a Porsche and are tested back-to-back with stock wheels, and Leno takes the 911 for a track test, too.
While carbon-fiber wheels aren't exactly a new idea, Carbon Revolution's goal is to create a lightweight, one-piece product that can be mass produced. The company even claims that it already has a deal with an OEM automaker to offer them on a vehicle in a few years. The key to the technology is that it doesn't need an expensive autoclave to be made.
In the meantime, the company's carbon fiber wheels are available as an aftermarket option for about $15,000 a set, according to the video. They weigh in at about 15.5 pounds each and offer OEM-levels of stiffness, so they could cut some unsprung mass off of a performance car. Watch here as Jay and his mechanic Bernard lap Willow Springs and give their feedback about what they think of this cutting-edge technology.
Former Top Gear crew starts filming for Amazon show
Wed, Oct 7 2015We might have only a hint at the name and no exact date for a premiere, but fans can celebrate that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are filming once again. Plus, it looks like every cent of Amazon's reportedly lavish budget is being put on the screen. A photo tweeted by Clarkson shows the three hosts standing proudly in front of a Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari, and McLaren P1 at a racetrack. Clarkson jokes that the show has just a "skeleton crew" but behind him stand several dozen people, a sophisticated-looking camera rig, and two big trucks. This definitely looks worth the anticipation of the premiere on Amazon Prime next fall. Hammond tweeted the same picture and wrote: "The band is back together and it feels brilliant." Intriguingly, it appears that fellow British auto journalist Chris Harris is currently filming at the same track. He tweeted a photo to Clarkson of the McLaren doing a very smoky slide, while being followed by the other two hypercars. The Porsches in both photos wear the same red-and-white number 3 livery and have the same license plate number. In a later message, Harris was also clear that he wasn't filming there in connection with the trio's Amazon show. This content is hosted by a third party. Proof the world revolves around the Porsche Cayman
Sat, 27 Apr 2013Or at least the world revolves underneath the Porsche Cayman, in the latest video showing off Stuttgart's mid-engine coupe. Porsche put an Easter egg in the world that spins triple-time, a "famous relative" of the Cayman hidden somewhere on the marble planet, and gave a Porsche Martini bag to one of the first 50 people who could point it out.
With more than 300 views there's no chance you'll win the bag, but you can still go on the treasure hunt in the video below.
