Sharp 1983 944. This is the first year of this model, which Porsche has called "the best cornering Porsche". 80k original miles, interior nearly perfect, paint shines, she looks every bit as good as the photos.
Too many cars for me and it is time for her to go to a good new home. I have a BMW for fun, and need a daily driver. This car deserves better.
New tires on awesome Borbet rims (by BBS), new battery, runs great, a fun car that has been well cared for. The photos tell the story best.

Mechanically excellent, A/C blows cold. K&N Air filter.
Prvious owner did the water pump at 49k miles, timing belt around 30k, it is due.
Buy it now gets you the car with a new timing belt, too.
There are a couple of things I have not yet addressed since getting the car:
Windshield washer does not work, I have replaced the pump, and expect, from the forum reading I have done, the contacts on the switch (arm on the steering column) need to be cleaned or replaced.
The cable on the heater control in the cabin needs to be tightened in the dash. This slippage is also noted in the forums, and means once you turn on the heat, it is on, with the short term remedy to go under the hood and manually move the switch on the heater hose to off, which is what I have done all summer.
All gauges and other controls work, transmission shifts smoothly, clean undercarriage, and it is a blast to drive.

Harry Metcalfe shows off his GT2-inspired Porsche 993 Turbo
Sat, Nov 14 2015There have been many versions of the Porsche 911, and the GT2 is among the greats. The hardcore variant of the iconic sports car packs the twin turbochargers from the 911 Turbo, but strips out the creature comforts and all-wheel drive. The 993 was the first generation to get the GT2 treatment, and that's just what Harry Metcalfe appears to have here. Only it isn't actually a GT2. This member of Harry's Garage is a 993 911 Turbo made to look like a GT2. That means it still has the all-wheel drive system from the Turbo model. And it also means that Harry didn't have to pay anywhere near as much as you would for a factory GT2, even on the used market. The founding editor of Evo traded in his 930 – the first 911 to go Turbo – and got this one instead.It may not be as original as his immaculate old 930, but as you can see from the video above, that doesn't make it any less of a thrill to drive. Porsche responds to PETA after tiger cub displays at Macan dealership events
Tue, 13 May 2014Porsche has found itself in the good graces of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which is pretty odd considering it's the only brand we know of that offers leather-lined vents. The activist group is praising the sports car manufacturer's handling of reports that some of its dealerships were set to feature tigers or tiger cubs at the local launch events for the Macan. Apparently, "macan" is the Malay word for tiger, which explains the connection between a highly touted crossover and a jungle cat.
A Tampa, FL dealership already displayed some three-week-old cubs, with PETA saying tigers for display should be at least eight to 12 weeks old. Even then, the group argues that the animals can suffer due to stress, malnourishment, neglect and a lack of veterinary care. The group brings up legal concerns, as well, arguing that if one of the cubs bit a customer, the dealership could be held liable (we're no big cat experts, but it seems unlikely a three-week-old cub could do that much damage).
Porsche's PR department quickly reacted to PETA's claims, with Vice President of Marketing Andre Oosthuizen, telling the group that Porsche is concerned about the "welfare of any animal, large or small, wild or domesticated." Oosthuizen's statements were reported in an official PETA blog.
