****mileage is not accurate**** however is close, is estimated to be under 130k. Instrument cluster is not working. Car has not been driven much since late 90s
NADA classic car values $7000 low to $12000 high Runs great, doesnt smoke, sounds amazing. Car was well taken care of, interior in descent shape for original 1981. front seats have dry cracking and passenger seat has some holes Dash leather has shrunk and pulled away a bit, as seen in picture Does run a little rough when cold, but once warm, has great throttle response and tons of torque. Transmission is slow to shift into reverse when cold, but again once warm, feels and shifts fine Shifts through the gears great on the road and kickdown functions fine Engine leaks oil and tranny leaks oil. Tranny may be leaking from the front seal. Not functioning: speakers sound terrible, driver power seat would tilt back, so manually adjusted forward and unplugged the switch. seat bottom moves forward and back fine and up and down (did unplug this switch as well though). Instrument cluster not functioning (common issue). AC does not blow cold. Otherwise car is very functional. Recently drove down freeway and feels great. All exterior lights are working, headlights go up and down fine, sunroof and windows work although move slow, heater works. Car is in pretty good shape for year. This car has obviously sat for years, guessing not much driving since late 90s, I purchased the car this summer and wanted to get it tip top but I need the money now. It is perfectly driveable, or a good restoration project as it is very straight, no sign of any accidents, only minor dents near the rear fender. Very cool car, got many compliments on it at the gas station and many lookers on the road. Feel free to message me if you have questions |

Can a Corvette really be compared to a 911 with options costing more than the Chevy?
Wed, 29 Jan 2014In this latest video from Drive, Chris Harris asks straight away, "Can you still compare a base Corvette to a Porsche Carerra?" That's an particularly interesting question in this film, as the 911 in question is a 400-horsepower Carrera S model that's been fitted with $60,000 in options. Base price of a Corvette Stingray? $51,995. Harris' tester features an automatic and some other goodies that push it right up to that $60,000 range. So yes, the options on the Porsche cost as much as this entire 460-hp Chevrolet.
Harris stresses that this isn't a full review, but he does exercise both cars in a more composed manner before reverting to his traditionally exuberant driving style. The impressions are, as always, spot on, with Harris favoring the pointy nature and V8 power of the Stingray, while enjoying the gearbox (Porsche's exceptional PDK transmission) and just about everything else on the 911.
Take a look below for the latest video from Drive, and let us know if you agree with Mr. Harris' views on these two sports cars.
Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R Nismo star in World's Greatest Drag Race 4
Fri, 26 Sep 2014We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.
The lineup this year boasts some impressively fast cars to be sure. The group of ten includes the following darlings: Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8, BMW M4, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Ford Fiesta ST, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Subaru WRX STI and, last but not least, the Volkswagen GTI. Give us any one of those for the weekend, and we're happy to take the keys.
It must be said though, that for a publication that draws as much water as Motor Trend does, there are some big cars that we might expect to be here instead. The Lamborghini Huracán or Ferrari 458 Speciale would have added some exotic flare to the list, and the omissions of the Chevy Corvette Stingray (for the second year in a row) and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat are real head-scratchers.
Jack Olsen built one Porsche to do it all
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Jack Olsen has built himself a lair called the 12-Gauge Garage, and inside that garage he built a lairy Porsche 911 nicknamed Black Beauty II. Although it looks like one of Stuttgart's models from the sixties or seventies, it is actually four decades of 911 gubbins from 1965 to 2000 thrown under one shell: the lightweight body is from 1972, the transaxle from 1977, the brakes from a 1986 Turbo, the engine from 1995, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and it's got 272 horsepower to get it going, but it's still a pure Porsche, Olsen saying, "If you stop thinking about what you're doing, it will remind you in very abrupt ways."
Olsen said the real point has been to have one car that does it all, so he does everything in his 911 from neighborhood runs to 7-11 to track racing - he loads the aero bits in the car and bolts them on trackside. And he says he'll never stop tweaking the suspension.
You can watch and hear the rest in Olsen's words in the video below.
