1977 Porsche 924 Martini & Rossi
Edition Up for auction is a very original Martini Edition 924. Porsche’s first limited edition 924 was the Martini Rossi. The cars were built from December 1976 till March 1977. It started selling in the spring of 1977. The car still has the original console plaque celebrating the victories of 69, 70, 71, and 76 Martini Rossi 935 and 936 racing cars. Only 2,000 examples made their way to the United States. Exterior: The exterior shows in good condition. The body is extremely straight. The car was re-painted in its original white and the factor Martini decals were replaced with a new set. The car is rust free. Floor pans and rocker panels all show in excellent condition. The car appears to be accident free. No signs of any collisions. Interior: The interior is all original with
exception to the red carpet which was replaced by the previous owner with black
carpet. Dash has cracks, center console missing a panel on the passenger side.
Original head liner shows in excellent conditions. Both original door panels
are in excellent shape. Driver side window does not close all the way (slight
gap, closes 95%). All seats are original and in need of reupholstering. The
trunk is in great condition. The hatch cover is in good condition and is fully functional. Mechanical: The car runs, drives and stops. The transmission
up and down shifts smooth with no grinds. The car has been in storage for some
time. New owner would be wise to do a major service and mount new tires before
regular road use. Other: The car comes with a Certificate of
Authenticity from Porsche. It holds a clean California Title in my name and is
currently registered Non-Op. It has original blue California Plates. To my knowledge
the car has always been in California. The car can be shown by appointment during the week after 5pm or on the weekends. I can be reached at (818) 642-5826 Payment/Shipping: I would like a 10% deposit no more than 24 hours after the auction ends. Deposit can be made through PayPal. The balance should be paid no more than 7 days after the auction ends. I accept wire transfer or bank/cashier check as method of payment for the balance. The car will not be released until it has been fully paid for. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping. The car is located in Northridge, CA 91326. This will be helpful when getting shipping quotes. I described the car as best as I could. I encourage you to look at all the pictures on the link below. http://s170.photobucket.com/user/juane30m3/library/1977%20Porsche%20924%20Martini%20Edition?sort=3&page=1 |

Porsche offers a closer look at the Mission E's design
Wed, Mar 30 2016As Porsche's first fully electric sports sedan to go on sale, the production version of the Mission E concept could revolutionize the company's products. It's vital to get the look just right because of so much riding on the upcoming EV, and a new video from the German sportscar maker offers a glimpse inside the Mission E's design process. When Porsche decided to create a four-seat sports car with an electric drivetrain, the designers started by creating a series of drawings that became clay scale models. While they don't look too different from the final shape, this video gives us a look at several different design sketches for the Mission E. The designers tacked up pictures of the brand's models and took some ideas from them. For example, the smooth nose has a resemblance to the front of the 718 RSK racecar from the late '50s and early '60s, and the Mission E also has cues from the current 919 Hybrid. The interior design process proceeded similarly. The stylists wanted to carry the look of the 911 into the future. For a cutting edge cabin, they also included elements like gesture recognition and holographic displays. In concept form, Porsche claims the Mission E all-wheel drive EV powertrain makes 590 horsepower, and Porsche promised a 311-mile range under the European testing method. Production should begin around 2020 at an updated factory in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany. The company's workers at the plant even agreed to adjust their wages to make sure assembly happened there. Related Video:
Ferrari 458 Speciale vs Porsche 911 GT3 shows what Chris Harris does best
Thu, Nov 27 2014After a brief trip behind a pay wall, British auto journalist Chris Harris is back posting videos for free online, and shorts like this one are the perfect example of why his return is so welcome. Showing up at the damp Anglesey Circuit on the Welsh coast with the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3, Harris ostensibly aims to find the better model. However, the final result really succeeds in showcasing the fun to be had behind the wheels of both supercars, particularly when initiating huge slides around the track. As Harris presents it, the vehicles get through the circuit in somewhat different ways The Ferrari is brash and "feels alive," as he puts it as it screams around the track. Alternatively, the Porsche is a bit more restrained, while still being able to show some emotion. In the end, it comes down to trying to get a controlled lap around Anglesey from this duo, but it's pretty clear that the times don't tell the whole story. If you're in the mood to watch two of the world's premiere supercars wag their tails in the wet, then this video cannot be missed.
Next-gen Porsche 911 may include plug-in hybrid version
Thu, Jan 14 2016According to Auto Express, there's a plug-in hybrid Porsche 911 on the way, and it could arrive as soon as the introduction of the next-generation car. At the Detroit Auto Show, the UK outlet spoke to 911 product line director Dr. Erhard Mossle, who said the Stuttgart automaker was "working on different solutions" for the next iteration of its most iconic car, and, "of course, we are discussing plug-in solutions for the 911, but there are a lot of things to solve with packaging in the car and other things to solve. It will maybe be in the next generation, yes." "When we see the 911," he said, "we see the plug-in hybrid as a performance car." Since we just saw the introduction of the turbocharged powerplant in the 911 Carrera last summer, we can expect a wait of at least four years for the next powertrain evolution. Mossle said that any 911 PHEV would remain a sporty proposition and likely retain the flat-six engine, which would give more prestige than the four-cylinder 718 (Cayman and Boxster) yet still be able to satisfy emissions regulations. Mossle is echoing the comments made by Oliver Blume, chairman of the executive board at Porsche, at the Detroit show when Blume said the production version of the Mission E concept would be a sports car that happens to be electric. As far back as 2009, in fact, Porsche has been openly discussing an electric 911, the caveat even then being that it has to perform like a Porsche while providing decent range. In the middle of 2014 it was reported that the carmaker might make a 700-horsepower 911 Turbo S hybrid, by the end of 2014 it was reported that the automaker wouldn't make a 911 hybrid. A year after that first report, a 911 hybrid was back on, using the E-Hybrid system supposedly dismissed six months before, and then last November we got spy shots of a 911 with a supposed PHEV port. But with its Mission E work, and being designated to lead the Volkswagen Group's R&D into performance hybrids, a battery-boosted 911 might finally make sense. Related Video:
