This is a very mechanically sound 1974 Porsche 914 2.0L. The car runs and drives and would make a great driver with a little work or could be a potential for a full restoration. Car will be sold AS IS. The Good: 2.0L Engine runs very well, starts easy. Has Delorto carburetors. Numbers matching 2.0L car Engine, carburetors and fuel tank were all cleaned when we purchased the car. New rear performance springs and shocks. The Bad: Needs rust repair on the floor pan to pass PA inspection. Pain is a little rough in spots with some surface rust. Weather stripping is going bad, however all new wether stripping is included, just never put on. Carpets are rough however new carpeting will be included. Odometer was not functioning correctly so actual milage is unknown, I have included the milage that is currently on the odometer. Please look at the pictures, I have tried to highlight as much of the problem areas as possible with the exception of the floor pan. The car DOES drive however it is out of inspection so driving the vehicle in state would not be an option. Buyer will be responsible for pickup and/or shipping. Over all this is a fantastic car, but I don't have the time to properly restore it. Good luck! |

Remembering Porsche's illustrious Le Mans history
Fri, 13 Jun 2014Not only does this weekend mark the running of the 82nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, it will also see the return of one of the race's most venerable brands to the top tiers of endurance racing. Porsche will campaign its first top-flight car since the 1998 911 GT1-98, the 919 Hybrid, at this weekend's race, in the hopes of knocking off its corporate rival, the dominant Audi team.
To understand just what a win for the 919 would mean, though, you need to look back on the intrinsic connection between the Circuit de la Sarthe and Porsche. It's a history that spans decades, dating back to the team's first win in 1970.

Muffler Man gets racing suit to mark progress on Porsche Experience Center
Sat, 19 Oct 2013In a dramatic change of careers, a fiberglass Muffler Man statue on the side of a busy Los Angeles freeway, formerly known as "Golf Guy," traded in his clubs for a Porsche driver's suit a couple days ago. It's no coincidence, as he's standing on land that the German automaker bought from the Dominguez Hills Golf Course a couple years ago to build its west coast Porsche Experience Center - which will be complete with a test track, restoration and maintenance facilities, a cafe and restaurant, a home for Porsche Motorsports North America and more, when it's finished in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The Porsche Muffler Man will serve as the gatekeeper to the 53-acre center and overlook the test track on the side of the 405 freeway. We can't think of a better job for a fiberglass giant that used to watch golf all day than to watch Porsche road cars and racecars getting wrung out on a test track in the middle of LA. Since Muffler Men are quite adaptable, we're sure this one will fit into his new role in no time - just as easily as he can double as Paul Bunyan.
