1973 Porsche 914 in excellent condition, with front and rear GT flares (fiberglass) and rear trunk spoiler. Body and paint are in excellent condition as I would probably give the paint a 9 and the body a 9+ and is very nice. Many new parts on this car including full tune up, valve adjustment, alt belt, coil, brakes, shifter bushings, fuel pump, and new tires. Clean interior, nice dash, no hvac controls as it was a southern car and previous owner didn't want them in the car and added oil pressure and charging gauges instead. Engine block is not a 2L, but was rebuilt with 2L heads and pistons and had this verified by my Porsche mechanic. Fuel injection has been replaced with Solex carburetors and starts right up, fuel pump was relocated to avoid the hot start problem from earlier models. The car runs and shifts good after its warmed up like most carbureted cars and has a small exhaust leak at the manifold which all but disappears when warmed up. Battery tray is in great shape and pan and rockers are in really nice shape also. Passenger mirror is not connected and will need new mount. Front and rear trunk have been completely sealed and are rust free. Originally all gauges worked, but the odometer has stopped now at 69000 and I believe this to be real miles as per the previous owner. I originally purchased the car because it was one of the best looking 914's I had seen, but I have lost my storage for it and have decided to let it go now. The car is still in my dealers name so the winning bidder will receive a clean title with a bill of sale upon receiving payment in full. I will require a $200 deposit with 48 hours of auction's end via Paypal with the balance in cash or Paypal if you want to pay the 2% surcharge due within 7 days. We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:

Porsche Cayenne shows a bit more face, plug-in spotted

Porsche was first rumored to be working on a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Cayenne over a year ago. However, we had never seen it, until now. The new model was caught almost completely undisguised while testing. In another stroke of luck, we got a glimpse of the upcoming facelift for Porsche's SUV (pictured above) as well.
According to the spy shooter, it was windy during the cars' cold weather testing. The cover blew off of the facelifted Cayenne, and there was enough time to snap these pictures before it could be hidden again. The changes are all quite minor but jive with what we saw the last time it was spied. The rear still wears some cladding but is expected to be hiding lights similar to the Macan.
The second gallery shows off the upcoming Cayenne PHEV. It looks nearly identical to the standard model, except for the extra panel on the driver's side of the car that hides the electric port. One image even shows the car plugged in. The new version is expected to use the same supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and 9.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack with a combined 416 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque from the Panamera S E-Hybrid. We enjoyed the system when we tested it last year. It's rumored to debut on the SUV sometime this year.

Porsche 911 driven by McQueen on Le Mans set for auction

Another piece of Porsche memorabilia from the movie Le Mans is going up for auction with Christie's at The Exceptional Sale on Nov. 4 in Paris. This is a 1971 911 T that Steve McQueen used as his personal car during filming - it is not the 1970 911 S seen in the movie's opening sequence. It is one of the Porsches provided by two-time Le Mans winner and stunt driving double Jo Siffert. McQueen's production company CBS Solar Films bought the 911 T from Siffert, one of four 911s CBS Solar bought from the Swiss driver for use in and during filming. McQueen gifted the car to co-star and leading lady Elga Andersen. When she died in 1994 she willed it to her best friend, and the friend sold it to the current owner, who put it up for sale. None of them put the car to much use, as it has only 28,637 miles on the odometer, which is fewer than 55 miles per month for the last 44 years. The pre-sale estimate for this car is $284,000 to $397,000. By comparison, the 911 S used in the movie's opening sequence sold at auction in 2011 at Monterey for $1,375,000. In addition to being a relative bargain in that case, it comes with a scan of the original contract from Siffert to Anderson giving her the car, and a picture of McQueen and his son Chad with the coupe.
