1985 Porsche 911 Targa
I purchased this car on August 26 2013, at that time the car had 136,302 miles on it. I started with a great car and made it greater. This car is accident and rust free, the interior has no rips or tears and its mechanicals all work as they should.

During my ownership I have done and installed the following.
  • H4 Headlamp conversion
  • 17" staggered Fuch Replicas
  • New tires
  • High flow air filter
  • Steve Wong performance chip
  • High performance exhaust
  • New door sill trim
  • New hood and trunk lift struts
  • Engine valvetrain overhaul (over $4000.00 in Valves, guides, seals and gaskets)
  • Aluminum pedals
  • Custom wood steering wheel (not cheap)
  • New Leather shift knob
  • Custom floor Mats
  • Custom load floor mats
  • Performance brake pads
  • Performance cross drilled rotors
  • New clutch
  • New CV boots
  • New high torque starter
  • Conversion to R134a refrigerant
  • CD audio
The body color is "marmograu" which is white in appearance but when compared to a white car is the lightest shade of gray possible. This is a high quality repaint, this together with the blue leather interior is nothing less than stunning and probably one of a kind.

The interior looks like a car with only 50,000 on it. The seats do not have wear on the bolsters, the dash has a cap installed but without mention you would never know it.

The engine has just had the upper end rebuilt, this means no smoke at start up or ever. No leaks and No oil consumption.

The factory "915" transmission works as it should.

This car is lowered to a "euro" spec height and has been detailed by professionals with its classic black trim being restored to is original glory, factory optional "whale tail" spoiler this car is a true classic Porsche and catches everyone's eye as you go past.

This car is presented with no dings or dents, no tears in the Targa top, door panels, seats or armrests. This car has no needs nor wants when you drive this car you are in a time machine. The only reason for the sale is another project has forced me into a reluctant sale. Don't buy a fixer upper if you can help it. These cars are expensive to restore and sort out, all of that has been done for you here. Spend the little extra and get a great car, this car, you will be much happier in the long run. Values on this car are only going to go up. This car will be worth another 5k-10k more in a few years!

The reserve is set to Sell Now. Bid with confidence, I have had a lifelong obsession with great cars, this my friends is truly a great one.

This car is sold as is, where is. A deposit of $500.00 is expected within 24hours of the auctions end. Any questions please call 804-356-9918

Porsche 918 Spyder goes ice drifting in Finland

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Along with the Ferrari Laferrari and McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the trio of hybrid supercars potentially defining the path for these rarified vehicles going forward. When thinking about high-performance machines like this, the mind usually goes to precise driving around a circuit or maybe along a beautifully undulating road... not so much in the snow. Still, this group has more than enough power to make it through a little bit of powder, and the 918 proves that at the Porsche Driving Experience winter camp in Finland. Although, the set of studded snow tires certainly helps. Even with the trick all-wheel drive system in the Porsche combining a mid-mounted V8 and electric motors, this 918 has absolutely no problem lighting up the rear end in the snow and ice. Even at relatively low speeds, just a blip of the throttle is all it takes for the back tires to step out. However, the handling still looks quite controllable. It's hard to grin as this rare supercar does the Scandinavian Flick to set up a perfect drift between the snow banks.

Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.

Porsche Classic launching branded motor oil for air-cooled boxer engines

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

It's hard not to love the look of a classic Porsche. Whether it's the upside-down bathtub styling of the 356 or the gradual evolution of the 911, there is a little beauty in all of them. However, the older they get, the more that needs repaired to keep them on the road. Porsche Classic is helping out, though, by introducing its own brand of motor oil for the demands of the company's vintage, air-cooled engines.
Developed at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, Germany, Porsche Classic Motoroil comes in two weights - 20W-50 for the 356, 914 and 911 models up to the 2.7-liter G-Model and 10W-60 for 3.0-liters-and-up engines through the 993-chassis 911. The company claims that the air-cooled engines have different heat demands than traditional, water-cooled units, and this oil is made to meet those requirements.
According to Porsche, modern, synthetic oils are sometimes too effective when it comes to old engines. They are fantastic at sopping up debris, but those deposits are often holding archaic seals together. Suddenly removing them can cause leaks. The new oil is specifically designed to work with the old-fashioned materials found in its classics. The company also knows that most owners aren't driving their vintage cars everyday. So this formulation is more alkaline that normal to neutralize acids that they build up and corrode components.
