Very rare Amethyst Metallic with Espresso interior Save over $90,000 off new. The car is more than $30,000 under current book value. The car is on a rebuilt title after it was arbitrated as an insurance write off. The previous owner had a minor wreck (photos are included) and refused the car, forcing the insurance company to buy it (usually this happens with high end cars when owners say their cars resale value was diminished by being in a wreck). It was light front end damage with no airbags deployed. It was repaired right and I was told repairs were less than $10,000. With 5k miles driven since, this car just had it’s 30k mile service at the Porsche dealership and passed the typical multi-point inspection with flying colors. The car is perfect. No dings, no scratches, and pretty much like new. Very rare color - Amethyst Metallic almost looks like a candied paint option. The car looks black most of the time, and a dark blackberry hue when the light hits it right. It’s a very classy color gets a lot of compliments. The car is very heavily optioned. Porsche working on turbo V12 for Putin limo project?
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Porsche is best known for building very well-regarded sports cars and better-selling utility vehicles. Come to the company with a big enough bag of cash, though, and the Porsche Engineering division can create just about anything. The group's past projects include working with Harley-Davidson, Mercedes-Benz and corporate cousin Audi, but if rumors prove true, then its latest partner might be the last one you'd expect.
Russian website Wroom reports that Porsche Engineering is building the engine for the Project Cortege government limousine project for Russian president Vladimir Putin. The mill is supposedly a turbocharged V12 displacing between 6.0- and 6.6-liters and making around 800 horsepower. When complete, it will reportedly be built by ZMZ with Russian-sourced parts.
The limo is expected to debut in 2017, according to Wroom, but it's just the beginning of Putin's grandiose plans, which also goes by the name of the Motorcade Project. The same platform is also meant to underpin several vehicles for use by the government, including an SUV, a small bus and a sedan. All of them would reportedly have a longitudinally mounted engine and all-wheel drive.

But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
