For sale is a beautifully maintained '06 911 C4.  I spent several months looking for this car and after less than a year of ownership have to sell it.  I have taken excellent care of this car.  40k mile service (brakes, tires, etc) was done at International Porsche in Milwaukee just before I bought it.  All service under my ownership was done at Fischer Motorsports in Lake Barrington, IL.  Rick Fischer is very well known in the 911 Cup racing circuit and took great care of my care.  Diagnostics were run and this has never been over redlined or tracked.  I have never driven this car in the snow and it has been garage kept all winter.  This car is somewhat unique in how well it has been cared for and driven.  It has a very cool look including red tail lights which are an option no longer available.  I had the window tints redone and the wheels painted black.  It also has built in K40 so let her rip and have some fun!

Porsche resurrects V8-powered 911 prototype from the Eighties

Wed, 14 May 2014

These days, we take it for granted that the Porsche 911 uses a flat-six engine. That's because every version of the iconic rear-engined sports car has had one. Right? Well, for the most part. There was the 912 that joined the original in the late Sixties with a flat-four. And in the mid-Eighties, Porsche toyed around with the idea of a V8-powered 911.
After the first-generation 911 had been in production for over two decades, Porsche began development of its successor, the 964, in the 1980s. And one of its ideas was to use a V8 engine. So it took a 964, borrowed a V8 from Audi, gave it the rear bodywork from a 959 and dubbed it the 965.
The idea was to create a more affordable successor to the 959 that included its advanced all-wheel drive system and active suspension. The Audi V8 would have been replaced with one of Porsche's own design - possibly based on the it had built for Indy racing - but Dr. Ulrich Bez (who was then head of Porsche R&D long before taking the reins at Aston Martin) ultimately killed the project.

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

Watch Porsche legend Jeff Zwart frolic in the snow in his 356

Wed, 14 May 2014

Racing driver Jeff Zwart picked up a 1953 Porsche 356 Pre A to use as a historical prop in a Cayenne commercial, then decided to keep it when the filming was done. Then, explaining to filmmaker Will Roegge that his vintage toy does really well in slippery conditions, Zwart throws it around in the Colorado snow - on pencil-thin studded tires on 16-inch wheels - to prove the point.
Don't expect roostertails in this winter wonderland video, however; with just about 60 horsepower at sea level, gumption drops to about 40 hp when playing at 9,000 mountainous feet. But that's still plenty to work as a testament to the phrase, "If you've got it, flaunt it," and you can watch it below.
