2004 Porsche Turbo Cabriolet - Silver/Black. 46,300 miles.

I purchased this vehicle two years ago from Porsche of Tuscon and have driven it approximately 10k miles since then. I only drove this vehicle in spring/summer/fall and it has always lived in my garaged. Unlike many Turbos, this car is unmodified. The only things I've done to it are: change its oil (Mobile 1 0W-40); replace the battery; and replace the rubber (Michelin Pilot Sport N2s) which have less than 800 miles on them. This Turbo drives incredibly well, and is in very good condition.  The 996 Turbo has proven to be extremely reliable vehicles, many of which have more than 300K miles. It has a clean Carfax with no accidents despite multiple owners.

996 Turbo Cabriolets come standard with the following features:

Anti-theft system with engine immobilizer and alarm
Automatic climate control with dust/pollen and activated charcoal odor filters
Bose digital audio system with six-channel amplifier and 12 speakers
Heated power side view mirrors; heated glass rear window
  Heated windshield washer nozzles
Leather-covered telescoping three-spoke steering wheel with Porsche Crest
  Metallic paint
Power opening for the luggage and engine compartment lids
  Power windows with one-touch up/down
Power-adjustable full leather seats with driver's seat memory
  Programmable remote locking system
  Trip computer
  Full leather interior

Options on this Turbo include:

Heated Seats
X-50 exhaust tips
Factory Navigation
CD changer (high capacity 6-disc magazine not included)
Comes w/ 911 (996) cover

I am the 6th owner of this vehicle, and the price reflects this fact (a clerical error shows that I am the 7th owner) and some minor cosmetic issues. So if you are concerned with this, you should look elsewhere and prepare yourself to pay a 10K-15K premium for a one-owner cream-puff car. If you're looking for an excellent driver's car with low miles that turns heads everywhere, you will not be disappointed.

Price: $46,900

Porsche Cayman gets a new face

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

We've already seen photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster out testing, but we're now seeing these same changes making their way onto the hardtop Cayman coupe. Cosmetically, the next round of Porsche's smallest sports cars isn't vastly different, with redesigned headlamps, LED running lights (like its big brother, the 911), and new taillamps that actually aren't visible on the prototype seen here.
The big news for the updated Boxster/Cayman range is the long-rumored four-cylinder engine. Recent reports suggest we could see four-pots with displacements of 1.6, 2.0, or 2.5 liters, and with output ratings as high as 360 horsepower. Of course, these new four-cylinder mills would be both turbocharged and direct-injected.
It's unclear whether or not the six-cylinder engine range will also be updated when this new Cayman comes to market. In any case, we expect to see it bow in the relatively near future. Stay tuned.

Investigators blame speed in fatal Paul Walker crash

Wed, 26 Mar 2014

When the tragic news first came in that actor Paul Walker had been killed in a car crash, family, friends and fans were left searching for answers. They now have at least one key question answered, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department blaming "unsafe speed" for the fatal accident.
According to a statement released by the LACSD, "Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions". The investigation into the November, 2013 crash determined that Walker's 2005 Porsche Carrera GT had been driven by his business partner and racer, Roger Rodas, at speeds between 80 and 93 miles per hour - less than the 100+ mph initially suspected, but still far too fast for the road on which they were traveling, which carried a posted limit of 45 mph.
In the investigation into the death of the Fast & Furious star and his friend, some people were quick to finger the Porsche in which they were riding as the culprit. The Carrera GT does, after all, have the reputation of being a notoriously difficult car to control. But after an exhaustive investigation, law enforcement officials in California have vindicated the car and dismissed any mechanical fault as the cause of the accident.

Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
