For Sale is my pristine 2003 996 turbo with 18,000 documented miles. This car has a extensive service record and has had nothing but the best maintenance. The car has never seen rain nor snow. Garage kept always! One of my biggest questions when buying a car is why is it for sale. My car is for sale for one reason and one reason only. To buy a house! My wife and myself are super excited about this chapter in our lives and cant wait to start looking. The bank has pre- approved us but i need to sell my car for a down payment. It hurts me to sell it but my family means more to me right now. OK so now for the details about the car. The car has many many high dollar professionally installed mods. The engine and turbo's are completely STOCK!!! It does have a European labs 1.2 bar boost tune along with a titanium akrapovic exhaust giving the car a estimated 500 horsepower. This car runs and drives better than a stock car hands down. The exhaust is perfect in my eyes. Sounds amazing. Then again it should be for $8000. The suspension is KW coilovers giving the car amazing handling and a awesome ride height. The rims are 19" OZ ultraleggra's with brand new michelin ps2's. The car also has a SSK that makes the shifting unbelievable compared to stock. Paint matched bumperettes, bumper plugs, door plugs, and rear wiper delete making the car sooooo smooth looking. One of the best detailers in the country spent 70 man hours perfecting the paint on the car then sealing it with cronolite 15. After that a extensive venture shield clear bra was applied to the car covering the whole front bumper, the whole hood, both fenders, side skirts, mirrors, and rear turbo intakes. There are no seams. The bra is clear coated so you can polish it just like you would the paint. Its AWESOME. There are NO rock chips or scratches any where on the car. This car just took best of show at the PCCA car show in Hammondsport N.Y just a month ago. The stereo system is just amazing it consists of all Alpine components including 2 amps under the hood, a flip out navigation head unit, 8 speakers and sub woofer. This system was professionally installed and sounds unreal. The interior of the car is absolutely flawless!!!! Never smoked in. It smells like a brand new car!!!! The car has very nice options including red deviated stitching, red seat belts, polished pedals shifter ****, and instrument panel. I have the factory quad exhaust tips, stock suspension, stock exhaust and the stock turbo twist rims that have brand new rubber on them also. These are all included with the sale. Also included in the sale is a custom Griots indoor cover for the car, factory Porsche battery charger and Porsche sunshade. This car is turn key and needs nothing but a new owner. PPI are more than welcome!!!!! I feel this is one of the finest 996 turbos in the country. The car only has 18k miles with a original window sticker price of $125,000 which I have. The car has thousands and thousands of dollars invested into it making it a real supercar. My asking price is FIRM and well worth it. Please call me or text me with any questions you might have. I will help in delivering or shipping the car anyway i can. The caf is located in Hornell N.Y 607 769 3962 Chris. I also have plenty more pics of the car that can be sent via text message

Which is quicker in the standing mile, a Subaru WRX STI or a Porsche Cayman?

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2014 Porsche Cayman are both saddled with unfair reputations. The STI with its huge wing and gold wheels has the title of the ultimate boy-racer. On the other hand, Porsche brand snobs look down on he base Cayman as just a wannabe 911. In reality, they are both pretty fantastic performance cars. But what would happen if the two of them lined up at a stoplight, and maybe the guy in the suit in the Cayman started throwing some revs at the young man in the STI? Automobile decided to find out in a recent video pitting the two stereotyped hot rods against each other in a standing-mile drag race.
In terms of raw numbers, they are surprisingly close. Both use flat engines and six-speed manual transmissions here, but the Subaru has more power and torque. However, the Porsche makes up for it with 300 pounds less weight. Neither should have a problem with traction either thanks to the STI's sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup, and the Cayman's mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
The comparable specs certainly show themselves in the real world for the race. We're not going to give away the winner here because it's too exciting, but let's just say the finish is very, very close. Scroll down to watch both of them shrug off their stereotypes and show off their real performance.

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.

Another naked Porsche 911 GT3 RS caught in Stuttgart parking garage

Tue, Jan 6 2015

With its reveal not expected until the Geneva Motor Show in April, we have to wonder why there'd be a rode-hard-put-away-wet 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS sitting out in the open, completely uncovered. It's one thing to be caught out on the street or in triplicate at a Swedish gas station, but it's another thing to be on what looks like daily driving duty – there's a child's seat in the passenger's throne. Instagram user Johan9ff snagged it, and in response to a query in German as to how, he answered in German (per Google Translate) that he found it in a parking garage in a fitness center in the Stuttgart suburb of Killesberg. Based on its muddy front lip and bug-spattered paint job, the coupe has been naked out on the street and traveling quickly. Out of its camouflage it looks just like we've been led to expect based on the patent photos and the recent winter spy shots, but this time we get an up-close view of the vents over the front wheels. We have one word to say about them: filthy. And if you're wondering about those turbo-like vents on the rear haunches, no, this isn't a GT2 – Porsche has said there won't be a GT2, the current race-certified GT3 RSR has those vents (occasionally found on the previous version as well), and the GT3 RS has already been leaked in scale-model form. This is it. Based on comments left on Porsche forums, production will be limited by the number of orders – the new engine won't meet European regulations coming into force, so it won't be manufactured after this year. Deliveries are said to start at the beginning of summer; those who bought the 918 Spyder will get first dibs, and you can be certain there won't be enough of these to go around. Speaking of that engine, it's said to be good for somewhere between 510 to 525 horsepower, a PDK transmission getting power to staggered wheels, 20-inchers in front, 21-inchers in the back. Johan9ff has slowly been posting Instagram photos of the beast, we're hoping he got at least one of the interior. Those seats looks mega. Bring on Geneva.
