This is my beautiful 1999 Porsche 911 that I am selling cause I have too many cars (at least my wife says so!!).
This car had an original MSRP of $92,000 and includes; Soft leather interior, optional hard top, power steering, power windows, AC, 6 speed manual, $2,000 Alpine Stereo, allow wheels, new tires, traction control, ABS, you name it, it's fully loaded. In addition to the above, if you know anything about these cars, then you know about the IMS Bearing Issue. This car had a brand new Porsche Engine and Clutch installed 8,000 miles ago, and I have all receipts to prove the work was done. The cost of this replacement was almost $23,000 to the previous Owner. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THESE CARS UNLESS THE SELLER CAN PROVE TO YOU THAT THE IMS BEARING HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH CERAMIC BEARING, OR THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED, LIKE MINE. Google IMS Bearing Failure Porsche and read the horror stories. It took Porsche 5 years to address the problem, fortunately for you, this car has a brand new (not rebuilt) Porsche Engine, and I even confirmed that it had the corrected IMS Bearing, so NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS ENGINE!!!! In addition to the engine, I have rebuilt the entire hydraulic system for the convertible top, had the mass airflow sensor replaced, and repaired anything I can find wrong with the car. In addition, I just put new tires on the vehicle about 1,000 miles ago. I also have a custom Porsche Storage Bag for the optional Hard Top when not in use. This car looks and drives like new. It is currently located in Tempe Arizona in my garage and I drive it only occasionally. Please feel free to call me anytime with any questions you may have. Chris 970-507-1096 |

Investigators blame speed in fatal Paul Walker crash
Wed, 26 Mar 2014When the tragic news first came in that actor Paul Walker had been killed in a car crash, family, friends and fans were left searching for answers. They now have at least one key question answered, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department blaming "unsafe speed" for the fatal accident.
According to a statement released by the LACSD, "Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions". The investigation into the November, 2013 crash determined that Walker's 2005 Porsche Carrera GT had been driven by his business partner and racer, Roger Rodas, at speeds between 80 and 93 miles per hour - less than the 100+ mph initially suspected, but still far too fast for the road on which they were traveling, which carried a posted limit of 45 mph.
In the investigation into the death of the Fast & Furious star and his friend, some people were quick to finger the Porsche in which they were riding as the culprit. The Carrera GT does, after all, have the reputation of being a notoriously difficult car to control. But after an exhaustive investigation, law enforcement officials in California have vindicated the car and dismissed any mechanical fault as the cause of the accident.
Leno, Seinfeld and a Porsche 356/2 featured in latest CICGC
Sun, 19 Jan 2014In the latest kaffeeklatsch known as Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld pulls Jay Leno out of his garage for a trip to Jones Coffee in Pasadena, CA. The NBC funnyman we've lately seen driving two guest Porsches in his eponymous garage this time takes the passenger seat in a 1949 Porsche 356/2, one of early all-aluminum, hand-built coupes - still in 100-percent original condition - built in Gmund, Austria and nicknamed "Gmunds."
The comedy veterans have known one another for 35 years, so the episode is rich with stories of The Good Old Days. Leno says it is also the first time he's ever had a cup of coffee, and for obvious comedic reasons they start with the civet-stained beans made famous in The Bucket List. You can watch Leno take his first sip below, and have you haven't heard the joke about the goat and the anvil, scroll on down for a listen to that and one or two more jokes besides.
Porsche offers detuned Boxster and Cayman 211 in Europe
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Looking at a new Porsche Boxster? First of all, we commend you on your choice, because in its latest iteration, the Boxster has sped out from under the shadow of the 911 and into its own. But now to choose: do you get the base model with 265 horsepower, the Boxster S with 315 hp, or the top-of-the-line Boxster GTS with 330 hp? It's a daunting question, considering the $10k+ price gap between each model that you could put into the gas-and-rubber jar. Same goes for the Cayman, albeit with ten more horses across the board. But as if that's not confusing enough, there appears to be another player on the field. (That is, at least, in certain European markets.)
Appearing on the company's Belgian and Norwegian sites are the Boxster 211 and Cayman 211. As you might have guessed, they pack a less substantial 211 horsepower, undercutting what we know as the base models. Instead of using a smaller engine, though, the Boxster and Cayman 211 get the same 2.7-liter boxer six, just with less power.
As a result, they're a bit slower off the line: the Boxster 211 takes between 6.1 and 6.4 seconds to get to 62, depending on exact specifications, compared to the 5.5- to 5.8-second range for the 265-hp Boxster, while the Cayman 211 is quoted at 6.2 seconds versus the 275-hp Cayman's 5.4 to 5.7 seconds. Fuel consumption and emissions, on the other hand (and as you'd expect), are better in the 211. But while Porsche Norway charges around $10k less for the 211 models, Porsche Belgium charges the same for the 211 models as it does for the next most powerful versions (from which they appear to be visually indistinguishable).
