Due to an unexpected job transfer to the West Coast, I have reluctantly decided to sell my beautiful C4 coupe. I purchased it in December, 2011 from an eBay private seller located in Arkansas for $15,995. At that time, the car had 67,627 miles on it. I flew out and drove it back to New York without any problems; it ran fantastic. I brought it over to Rennwerk, LTD, a highly regarded Porsche specialty shop here in Westchester and had them go over the car. At that time, they completed all of the work that is shown on the receipt dated 1-11-12 ($3,289). Not shown is the receipt from Pepe Porsche for $ 1,554 which covered necessary parts including brand new factory left, right and center lenses/gaskets for the rear of the car. (The car came with a cracked center lens.) I had the windshield replaced with a new OEM unit on 5-8-12 due to a rock thrown up by a passing truck. I also replaced the rear view mirror with a new OEM unit.(Thank you Hagerty!) Finally, I had the rear brake pads replaced 6-7-12. The car just passed NY State inspection in January. Mechanically, the car runs great; tremendous power, excellent braking, smooth clutch and gearbox. However, it is not a show car as it has about 75K miles on it! I have included pictures that show some of the cosmetic issues; the rear bumper has been "bumped" at some point in the past so there is paint "cracking" visible; there is a touch up at the back of the drip rail on the driver's side; there is an imperfection on the sunroof and an assortment of other small paint chips. We found no evidence of any major accident repair when the car was gone over at Rennwerk although there was a little paint overspray underneath the driver's side front fender. All of the panel gaps are fine. The rear spoiler works as it should but the motor is somewhat noisy due to a dry bearing when the spoiler is deployed. The car came without a working air conditioning unit; the previous owner stated it need a new compressor. I did not have it replaced as it was not a priority. As far as the notorious oil leaks most of these cars have, yes, when up on the lift, the bottom of the engine had oil on it. The car does not drip oil onto the ground however and I did not have to constantly top off the engine oil level. I planned on having the engine re-sealed when the time came to do other mechanical work at some point in the future such as a new clutch, etc. The right bolster on the driver's seat has a crack in the leather due to use and should be repaired. The dashboard is fine with no cracks; all of the gauges work perfectly and there are no warning lights that remain lit after the car is started. The tires have some life left in them but I planned on replacing them this fall. Again, this is a beautiful 23 year old driver that will make its owner new owner proud, but it is not a mint "time warp" show car! I have started the auction at $12,500 with no reserve. Please call me if you need any more information: 917-658-7639. Thanks! Bill

We get wet with Porsche's Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3 RS
Fri, Nov 13 2015In case you missed them, we recently published our First Drive impressions on the super-hot 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 and the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Spoiler alert: they're lovely. In order to properly test these new machines, Porsche let senior editor Alex Kierstein loose on Road Atlanta. But rather than a blissful day of warm, dry conditions, this test session proved to be a super gross experience. The track was soaked. But that didn't stop Kierstein from manhandling both coupes with confidence. Credit where credit's due, Alex said the tires on the GT3 RS were absolutely amazing, and proved helpful for getting the most out of the most hardcore 911 in these incredibly damp conditions. Have a look at Kierstein's experience in both cars, in the video above. We can't wait to get these bad boys out on some dry roads.
Porsche 911 GT2 caught testing, is super bad
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Look what spy photographers have spotted sprinting around the Nürburgring. Our shooters nabbed a few photos of the all-new Porsche 911 GT2 in its native habitat without any of the bulky camouflage or cladding we're used to seeing. The result is our first truly clear view at the upcoming successor to the GT2 throne. From the looks of it, the new model will boast wider fender arches front and rear, and hefty air intakes set into the machine's hips should help feed a beastly 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine. Early guesses put the engine output somewhere around 560 horsepower.
Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine should propel this rear-engined heathen to 62 miles per hour in under three seconds. Top speed? Try somewhere around 200 mph. If that's true, the next-generation 911 GT2 will be the fastest 911 in Porsche history.
Robb Report chooses Porsche 911 as its Car of the Year
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Robb Report has picked the seventh-generation Porsche 911 Carrera S as its 2013 Car of the Year, saying the two-door captivated its judges with "agility, driving dynamics and balance." The German coupe bested 12 others who were also in the running - the impressive list of nominees included the BMW M5, Audi S8, Ferrari FF, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
Judging involved more than just throwing darts at pictures on the wall, as the publication enlisted a panel of automotive experts to test drive each vehicle for close evaluation. The panelists included 100 members of the Robb Report Club (comprised of top corporate executives and influential readers), Editor-in-Chief Brett Anderson and automotive consultant Robert Ross. Full results of the competition will be revealed in the luxury magazine's March issue, hitting newsstands in about a week.
