The only blemish visible from more than arms length is on the rear bumper. One of the power seat controls does not work - the rear height adjustment control. As with all air cooled Porsches, oil finds it way to the outside of the engine. If you rub your hand around the bottom of the case, you will get oil on your hand. It does not drip, or leak an oil trail in your driveway. The Porsche mechanic who serviced the car told me it was nothing to worry about, and not significant enough for any concern."

I will describe this as one of the "most honest" used cars you will ever see! I believe I am the third owner, having purchased it last month. I know the previous owner who owned it for the previous 12 years. I have receipts of oil changes going back to 2002. The local Porsche Guru has been handling all the recent mechanical services. Last tune up/valve adjustment was 39K miles. I'm confident this car has never seen snow, or hardly ever been rained on. The only non original/aftermarket item I know of in this car is the radio. Includes original owners manual, and 3 original keys(big key, small key, and lug lock key-but locking lugs are not on the car) The car looks great, but could use a professional buffing/detailing. All rubber trim/window seals are in great shape, I have found no visible signs of rust. I bought this as an impulse buy, and am only selling because its a toy I dont have room for. Driving in it is just like driving a car 20yrs ago with 40K miles. Its surprisingly quiet on the highway, radio works well for what it is, and of course all the lights, turnsignals, fog lights and cruise control still work. I've had it for a month and put barely 200 miles on it. If the weather is nice enough for this car, I ride my motorcycle to work.

Porsche tells 2014 911 GT3 owners to park their cars pending inspection

Porsche may have have a serious problem on its hands. After a rumored five 2014 911 GT3 coupes caught fire in recent weeks, Porsche launched an investigation and stopped delivering its road-ready racecar until it could diagnose the problem. Now, it has issued a press release asking all 2014 911 GT3 owners to immediately stop driving their cars until they can be inspected. Porsche is offering to pick up the cars from owners' homes and take them to the nearest dealer.
Porsche confirms that the at least two 911 GT3 coupes them have caught fire in Europe, and it has elected to inspect all 785 2014 GT3s worldwide. However, it claims no drivers have been injured in the fires. Unfortunately, Porsche says, "Internal studies to determine the cause of the engine damage have not been completed yet," so owners might have a bit of a wait before they are able to drive Porsche's ultimate 911 again. It's hard to believe there was a time when a Porsche 911 didn't come to market with 400 horsepower. But as the latest video from Petrolicious reminds us, with this video of a 1968 911T, owned by Donato Maniscalco, that time wasn't so long ago.
You might think, being a distinguished man living in Italy, Maniscalco would be more enthused by a Ferrari, Maserati, or Lamborghini, but in reality, it was always Porsche that enamored the Italian as a boy. And it was that passion that led him to purchase the glorious 911T he's seen tossing about in this video.
Maniscalco goes into detail about what makes the old 911 such a legend, while also mentioning how he and the car participate in classic rallies and races. There's also some typically beautiful footage of the Italian countryside, as well. So take a look below for the latest video from Petrolicious.

Porsche announces works team for United Sportscar Championship

Porsche is undoubtedly the most successful manufacturer in sportscar racing, and it's only upping its game. The German marque is launching its new LMP1 racer for Le Mans in pursuit of overall victory once again, and now that sportscar racing in North America is coming together under one banner in the United Sportscar Championship, Porsche has announced it is entering the fray with a works team here as well.
The new Porsche North America racing team will field two cars in the entire inaugural season of the Tudor United Sportscar Championship that's been formed out of the former Grand-Am and American Le Mans Series. The team will be based out of the Porsche Motorsport North America facility in Santa Ana, California, and will partner with three-time ALMS LMPC winners Core Autosport in getting a pair of the latest 911 RSR racecars to the front of the GT Le Mans class.
Drivers have yet to be announced, but are projected to be drawn out of Porsche's factory driver program, which includes such talents as Patrick Long, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani. Keep reading below for the official announcement.
