Here is a Very clean 1977 Porsche 911 S coupe for sale. This is a fine example being a RUST FREE florida car with only two owners and Very low miles. The car was originally yellow in color, but now wears a gleaming red paint. I am told the car is all original with the exeption of repaint, headliner, stereo, rear wing ( original Porsche piece, Just not to this car ) and wheels and tires (original wheels included in sale). The seats had sheep skin covers on them (included) which kept them preserved well. It is powered by a Mechanical fuel injected 2.7L horizontally opposed six cylinder engine backed by a 5spd manual transmission. This car even has its original ignition box (rare). It drives exellent and turns heads everywhere it's driven. The only issue is a minor exhaust leak that makes it raspy during excelleration, The car will need a new exhaust/ muffler. Other than that, It truely is an extrordinary example. Feel free to ask any questions and good luck on being the future owner of this iconic sports car by PORSCHE....after all, there is no substitute. Thanks and happy bidding. JIM

CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
Porsche's Mauer recalls the history of the 918 Spyder, hints about next-gen 911
Wed, 26 Feb 2014The night before Porsche handed me the keys to its 2015 Macan to drive on both road and track, the company threw together a great dinner for the assembled media in Leipzig. Hosted in Porsche's spaceship-shaped customer delivery center in the eastern German town, I'll admit that I spent the bulk of my night grabbing hors d'oeuvres from passing waiters (they do a nice tuna sashimi), milling around a collection of historic and interesting vehicles on the top floor and gulping down Warsteiner.
In an era of mega car companies, the story of how the 918 came to be was really refreshing.
Before the evening was over, however, Porsche design chief Michael Mauer stopped by my table to exchange pleasantries and thank us all for coming out to drive the Macan. My fellow diners and I passed a pleasant half-hour or more picking the brain of the forthcoming Mauer, and somehow or another, the topic turned to Porsche's newest supercar, the 918 Spyder. In an era of mega car companies (the Volkswagen Group included) and massive development teams, the story of how the 918 came to be is really refreshing.
The mid-engine Porsche backstory
Thu, 09 Oct 2014As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors - heritage (Mercedes-Benz), image (Lamborghini), or market share (Toyota). In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait.
Porsche would not have survived - let alone, thrived - in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.
