1976 Porsche 911S Lightweight Coupe.
I am selling my 1976 Porsche 911S to a new owner. This Car is optioned very rare. It is silver with black interior
which is a very desirable combo. The car has no sunroof or power windows and is super lite. The car has a 2.7 liter
engine in fantastic running condition with a complete disassembly and rebuild at 85,000. The car has many
recommended mechanical upgrades like Carrerra tensioners, 11 blade fan, upgraded alternator and updated head studs.
This car was not equipped with thermal reactor and never has had any overheating. Transmission goes into gear
perfectly and shifts through all gears as expected. Suspension is pretty fresh with new weltmiester drop links in
the front. Shock absorbers where also replaced in the past few years and work great. Other new items include new
good year tires and fuel injectors. Exterior paint was redone about 6 years ago to original color. Paint looks
fantastic and was a very professional job (looks factory) Glass was taken out and car was stripped to bare medal
before painting. Every single trim piece was replaced after painting including all black rubber/metal trim over
entire car. Door seals are new and wheels where professional restored. There are a few rocks chips on the paint but
unnoticeable from 10 feet. There is a single small scratch/depression on the rear fender near the engine lid which
can be seen in the picture of rear shot. Pictures are very Representative of the cars actual condition. Body has
zero rust or corrosion based on inspection. Interior has been redone and has some custom stitchwork on seats and
rear. Headliner has also been redone in the last year. The front glass is brand new as well as the front and rear
glass seals. The dashboard was just replaced 6monthes ago at a price of $1200. There is no radio or stereo system
in car. Nobody believes this car is a 1976 and is shocked at its condition. I planned to keep this car forever
hence the significant investment.
The great thing about this car is the history that comes with it. I literally have every receipt for this car sense
its first oil change in 1976. Every oil change is recorded in a complete log book to date. Every tune up or fluid
change is also recorded. I have a 4 Inch binder complete with every receipt of any repair ever done on this car
sense 1976. The car also comes with complete owner history and details of every modification from birth. This car
is a 40 year old vehicle and is very rare to find documentation of this level. Original owners manual, Oil change
and fluid book, tuneups and even original tool kit. This 911 has excellent investment potential as the
documentation is very detailed and condition is very good.

Porsche moving all Boxster/Cayman production to Zuffenhausen
Fri, Jul 17 2015The Porsche Boxster and Cayman have been built at a variety of locations over the years. But in its latest announcement, the German automaker has revealed its intentions to bring production of its entry-level models back home to Stuttgart. The decision was announced today as part of a major investment program being undertaken by Porsche. Porsche intends to spend over ˆ1.1 billion (equivalent to over $1.2 billion at current exchange rates) to expand several of its facilities. Those include the factory at Zuffenhausen, the sales and marketing department at Ludwigsburg, and the famed R&D facility at Weissach – all of which would undergo upgrades and renovations by 2020. The biggest component of the wide-ranging plans, however, would ostensibly be the expansion of the Zuffenhausen assembly line. While the Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan are handled largely at a second facility in Leipzig, the 911 is built at the company's historic home at Zuffenhausen, on the outskirts of Stuttgart. The Boxster and Cayman are built there as well, but excess capacity has been outsourced to other facilities: first by Valmet in Sweden, and then at the former Karmann plant in Osnabruck, Germany. That additional off-site production, however, will come to an end starting in August 2016, both for the current models and their replacements. In addition to the expansion of the assembly plant, the Zuffenhausen site will also get a new body shop and engine production facility. In the process, Porsche has also ruled out laying off any workers until 2020. The entire proposal was announced by the company's Executive Board and the General Works Council that represents its employees, but still needs to be approved by the Supervisory Board. The Executive Board and the General Works Council of the Porsche AG have adopted a pioneering package of measures for the long-term safeguarding of the company locations. Porsche is to invest more than a billion euros in the expansion of its factories. The objective of the new agreement with the title "Fit for the Future" is also to boost the productivity, flexibility and efficiency of the company while maintaining the social standards for the employees.
Watch Carrera Cup driver Connor de Phillippi's first lap of the N"urburgring
Thu, 23 May 2013American race driver Connor de Phillippi was recently added to the roster of Porsche Juniors, the arm of Porsche's factory racing program that develops new talent. The 20-year-old is contesting the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland series with FÖRCH Racing by Lukas Motorsport, and last weekend, he raced the series round at the Nürburgring. Starting 15th on the grid, de Phillippi would cross the line in ninth out of 32 finishers.
Courtesy of his in-car camera, you can watch his entire first lap in the video below - there's no music added, just engine whine during nine minutes of crests, turns, bumpy straights and that wicked Carousel. Enjoy.
Porsche doesn't think autonomous cars fit brand
Mon, Feb 1 2016Porsche customers have no need to worry because the company has no intention of taking away driver control by introducing autonomous tech for its vehicles. "One wants to drive a Porsche by oneself," company CEO Oliver Blume told a German newspaper, Reuters reports. For the sports car maker, this is a sensible decision, as its owners are driving enthusiasts who desire an exciting experience behind the wheel. Blume also isn't a big fan of people using their phones in the car. "An iPhone belongs in your pocket, not on the road," he told the newspaper. While Blume doesn't like some cutting-edge automotive tech, he's no Luddite. The CEO eventually wants every Porsche to be available with a hybrid powertrain option, including the 911. A plug-in version of the famous sports coupe could be ready by 2018 and have a 31-mile EV range (presumably on the European cycle), according to Reuters. The evidence suggests that Porsche is very serious about electrifying the 911. A company exec admitted the automaker had PHEVs under discussion. Spy shots (above) already showed one testing that possibly had a charger on the passenger side rear fender. The 911 PHEV would also follow logically from Porsche's recent surge to electrify its models. The Panamera and Cayenne already offer plug-in versions, and the 918 Spyder proves the system can perform. Applying that battery knowledge to the 911 is a natural move, especially with the fully electric Mission E taking another technological step forward around 2020. Related Video:
