Find or Sell Used Cars, Trucks, and SUVs in USA

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

For sale is my mid-course project car that currently resides in catalogued baggies, bins and garage.  Main note: this car does not come with an engine or headlights, as it was purchased without.  It does contain all other main components, including the original 901 transmission with the ubiquitous dogleg 1st gear.

I have over 300 pictures documenting the tear-down process so as to retain all pertinent information about assembly location, sequence and position; as well as electrical schematics and real locations including pin-outs, etc.

The pictures that I have included are examples of the car in various stages of its life over the past few years.  Some pictures are of the car prior to its disassembly, some example of the door integrity, some the suspension and axle, some showing the considerable floor pan rust.  The floors are mostly gone, which can easily be replaced with new stamped sheet metal (easily found by an avid Porsche restorer), and the rockers are in need of slight repair.  The front trunk area does contain surface rust, but is in no significant need of structural rehabilitation (opinions may vary depending on perspective).

The car was originally white, but painted Red a few decades ago.

Prior to bidding I recommend requesting many more pictures, all of which will be posted on google drive and shared with those who display interest.

This is a serious project for the true fan of short wheel base early 911's.

Happy bidding.  Sorry to see this go but with an imminent relocation some things in life must change.

Porsche Supercup racer dies in crash in Australia

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Even with great strides made towards increasing the safety of motor racing, fundamentally it's still a dangerous sport. And now it has claimed another life.
That life belonged to one Sean Edwards, an accomplished GT racing driver. Edwards was killed at Queensland Raceway in Australia, riding shotgun in a Porsche 996 GT3 while acting as instructor. The driver was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries. Sean Edwards was 26.
The son of former F1 driver Guy Edwards (whose car he drove in the filming of Rush), Sean won the European GT3 Championship in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and drove a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 to repeat victories at the 24 Hours of Dubai as well as this year's Nürburgring 24 Hours. Edwards had been competing in the Porsche Supercup, whose standings he currently leads with just two rounds to go, and could be crowned champion posthumously.

Jay Leno chats with Magnus Walker about his 1972 Porsche 911 72STR

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Magnus Walker has stopped by the Big Dog Garage again to pay Jay Leno a visit in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. This time, the Porsche builder brought along his 1972 911 72STR 002. Walker calls the machine his best build to date, and the car is a rolling "best of" from Porsches past, rocking some of the more attractive elements pulled from a wide arc of 911 model years. Of course, the machine also wears a few signature Walker touches, including flush-mount turning indicators, a center-hood fuel filler and plenty of louver work.
Unlike some of Walker's other creations, the 72STR 002 is clean enough to lick. Leno seems suitably impressed with the creation, and while apparently isn't typically a fan of Porsche models in general, Walker's tastefully modified 911 has him singing a different tune. You can check out the car in the video below.
