Absolutely beautiful 1963 Coupe.  Red with black interior. T-6 body. Not a door nick or scratch on it.  Drives beautifully, shifts perfectly and tight. Never in an accident, never been a neglected or rusty car.  The car was ordered from the factory with "show paint", no doubt one reason the paint lasted so long.  It had the original paint on it until a few years ago when I had the car completely stripped to bare metal, body disassembled, epoxy primed and repainted in the original color. All new body and window seals at that time, new interior sound proofing throughout, new German weave carpet, most of the chrome was re-plated  with the exception of dash gauges & interior door pulls which do show some pitting, and the blinker and rear light chrome which was not done so all the numbers would still show (these are in very good to excellent condition), new front windshield, new head-liner, dash board cover.  All parts and seals came OEM from Stoddard Porsche. Rear jump seats are original and in excellent condition.

Original factory extras: Horn ring, moon caps, AM FM SW radio (still works great), tool kit with the original spare valves, manual, and the very rare original red and black plaid rear seat luggage case that came new with the car.

Mechanical:  engine and transmission were both completely rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. Complete brakes and drums were also done at that time.  Everything works very well. The engine was rebuilt with  the big bore kit to provide more acceleration up California hills, but I do have the 4 original pistons and barrels. Otherwise the engine is original with original carbs and original 6 volt system. The car starts quickly, shifts smoothly, tracks straight and true, no shimmies or shakes of any kind, tight steering, smooth and solid braking. The floor pan is the original without any problems.

The bad:  The dash clock stopped working.  There is some minor pitting on dash gauge chrome rings and on both interior door closing handles, the ones just under the windows, not the interior door handles themselves. The engine does drip some oil, but I have never had to add any between my usual 2,000 mile or once/ year changes.

The car was tuned a few weeks ago and the compression tested between 145-150 psi.in all cylinders.

This car is ready to drive anywhere.  It is a California car, it is currently registered in California, but CAR IS CURRENTLY IN FLORIDA. I will be glad to cooperate in buyer arranged shipping across country or overseas.

2015 Porsche 911 GTS starts at $114,200*

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Purists often criticize Porsche for creating products like the Cayenne, Panamera and recently launched Macan, saying they dilute the true sports car spirit of the brand. It's an argument we've heard before, and one we counter with two points. First: No they don't. And second: These are Porsche's volume superstars, and the money they rake in allows the company to create dozens of versions of its well-liked sports cars. Want proof? Have a look at the gallery above, where you'll see four new versions of the 911, all with GTS badges on their rumps. This means Porsche now offers 19 versions of the 911. Nineteen.
Porsche offered a GTS version of the 911 in its previous generation, and this new one seeks to slot somewhere between the standard car and the hardcore GT3. It's available in coupe and cabriolet forms, with either rear- or all-wheel drive, starting at $114,200, *not including $995 for destination. The GTS Cabriolet comes in at $126,100, while models equipped with AWD will set you back $120,900 or $132,800 for the coupe or convertible, respectively.
All GTS models get the 430-horsepower version of the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six with the Powerkit, which also includes the Sport Chrono package and the sport exhaust. If equipped with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, the 911 GTS will hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds (or four seconds flat, if you've got the Cabriolet) - one tenth of a second quicker than the normal Carrera S. The car's top speed varies, depending on trim or transmission, but Porsche says the car will hit anywhere from 187 to 190 mph, flat out.

Top Gear drag races VW Golf R against McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911

Thu, Apr 7 2016

Top Gear's latest quarter-mile drag race in the collects three very different performance vehicles: the 296-horsepower Volkswagen Golf R, 424-hp Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, and 666-hp McLaren 675LT. While each of these cars sit near the top of their segment, they each come from totally different rungs of the sports car price ladder. Spoiler alert, the Golf R doesn't win. But the final results illustrate the diminishing returns of price and performance. For example, the McLaren is only about a second quicker than the Porsche to 60 miles per hour, but the 675LT costs over 2.5 times more that the GTS. Related Video:

China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market.
In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the US is still the larger market for the German brand.
"The U.S. performed very well this year, after a great year in 2013, but China is growing fast, thanks to the Cayenne which is our best seller there," Porsche's sales and marketing boss, Bernhard Maier, told Automotive News Europe.
