You are bidding on a 1963 Porsche Type B Ruetter Cabriolet with a Super-90 Engine. This classic open-top Porsche has had an older restoration but it is in excellent condition. The exterior is white (factory color was grey) with a factory red interior and a new black top. Of 9208 total 356 cars built in 1963, only 933 were cabriolets and 25% of the cabs had the most powerful Super-90 engine. This car appears to have no rust. The paint is good with a few small chips. Chrome door handles have minor pitting. The hub cap crests are original and have minor wear. The minor cosmetic defects could be easily fixed but I left them to illustrate the genuine nature of the car as so many 356 cars are fakes. The interior shows look great with minimal wear and the red upholstery has no defects and includes both headrests. The rear floor mats and bonnet tray are new.  Original type radio. Original steering wheel. The car has an original 6V electric system, new bulbs in most sockets. Mechanically the car started easily but it has not been driven for two years and was only driven for short excursions in dry weather. The Solex PII-40 carburetors were rebuilt. Oil pressure lines, oil filter, spark plugs, ignition cables, coil, and engine rubber seal are new. The gas tank was acid washed and flush-the fuel cock has been removed. An extra fuel pump is available. I have a certificate of Authenticity from Porsche of North America which shows the factory original specifications and I have the original new car Porsche pamphlet. The chassis number is 158236. Engine number is P-8033592, case 616.07.85) which is the correct Porsche Type B period and type (1961), but not the original engine from the factory. The odometer shows  about 36,000 miles but the true mileage is unknown. This is an excellent opportunity to own and enjoy an appreciating, quality, collectable classic Porsche. I love the car and hope you will too.

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

Man steals Porsche, brags on video, then crashes into wall

Thu, Dec 3 2015

Here's your daily reminder that thieves are morons. This also serves as reminder that not everything you do needs to be committed to video. A man in Gloucester, a city in southwest England, was stupid enough to steal a Porsche Boxster and then take a video in it. Oh, and of course, he crashed it. Now, we'll give this dimwit, 25-year-old Jamie Lee Sharp, some credit – he didn't actually admit that he stole the car on video, at least based on the 45-second clip released by Gloucester police and hosted by The Guardian. According to the story, there was more footage, which included Sharp driving the car and phoning friends, before he crashed it into a wall. It's not clear if the crash was caught on video, though. Following the crash, Sharp's accomplice, 26-year-old James Honeywell, abandoned him at the scene of the wreck. Both thieves were arrested following the January incident, though, and were just recently sentenced by British authorities following guilty pleas. The crown awarded Sharp's actions with a four-year stay in one of Her Majesty's prisons for burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, drunk driving, and driving without insurance. Honeywell got 35 months burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, and failure to appear at court. His license was also suspended for nearly two and half years, too, The Guardian reports. Russian President Putin's new limo makes debut ahead of 2017 production

Tue, Apr 5 2016

What's the best way to ignore an international money-laundering scandal that's allegedly revealed your link to $2 billion in off-shore accounts? Why yes, you get a new car. While information from the so-called Panama Papers is still being uncovered, Russian President Vladimir Putin's new Russian-made ride has been unveiled. Unlike US President Barack Obama's Cadillac-badged Beast, Putin's Kortezh will be available to any Russian that has the means. A total of 5,000 will be built in four different styles – limo, sedan, SUV, and minivan – although only 200 will roll off production lines next year, Sputnik News reports. Deliveries are expected to start in late 2017, while assembly will carry on through 2020, the Moscow Times reports. Commerce and Industry Minister Denis Mantrurov confirmed that Porsche has been brought in to help develop the Kortezh's powertrain. Whether that engine ends up being the turbocharged V12 we reported on way back in October 2014 isn't clear, though. Regardless of what's sitting under that long hood, we're betting it's going to be extremely powerful. Putin will likely take delivery of the Kortezh in 2017. Related Video:
