1957 Speedster Replica Hardtop / Soft Top / Turtle Back on 2040-cars
Lake Worth, Florida, United States
I have lost my garage space where I have kept the car and need to sell my 1957 Speedster replica based on Volkswagen chassis and body by Classic Motor Carriages. New 1904 cc stroker engine, duel 44 carbs with larger valved heads, mild cam, lightened flywheel, oil sump, and oil filter. Front disc brakes. Built the car and fabricated hard top and turtle back from original speedster. Have a carrier for removable hard top. Can modify car to liking in 15 minutes or less. Original Leitz luggage rack with vintage suit case and strapping. Tried to keep everything as close to an original speedster yet have added rear between the seat council which houses amplifier for I Pod (removable) with marine speakers in kick panels, rear seat storage, behind the seat kill switch, and tilting front seats. Have added blower for more air flow from heater.Tried to use all stainless products to minimize rusting. There is pitting on the front hood handle with minor spotting on a few chrome pieces, paint is great over all, with like new interior.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap
Tue, 04 Jun 2013We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.

Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach package does 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds
Mon, 18 Nov 2013Porsche marketers are having a field day with the 918 Spyder after some last-minute tuning improved the car's performance. They now say that it's so fast it's already beaten itself. Let us explain: Using a Weissach package-equipped 918 as an example (which reduces the plug-in hybrid supercar's weight through the deletion of some interior items, more generous use of carbon fiber and magnesium wheels), the car's previous official 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 2.8 seconds has been cut to 2.6. Additionally, 0-124 mph takes 7.2 seconds and 0-186 mph is dispatched in 19.9 seconds, times that were reduced by half a second and 2.1 seconds, respectively.
In all-electric mode, a non-Weissach pack 918 does 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds (with the package, 6.1 seconds), down from 6.9 seconds. Efficiency is also improved thanks to the final tuning. The New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) rating of a Weissach pack-equipped car equates to 94 miles per gallon, up three mpg compared to before. That's pretty good for a car with 887 horsepower!
Check out the press release below for more details on how Porsche's final tuning measures improved its flagship supercar.
