2009 Pontiac Vibe GT with 29847 original miles. Factory options include automatic transmission (w/slap stick mode), 2.4L 4 cylinder toyota engine, power windows/locks/mirrors/sunroof, keyless entry/alarm, cruise, foglights, spoiler, xm radio ready, steering wheel mounted radio controls, factory premium wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, and more. The GT package options include the 2.4L engine, sporty front and rear bumpers, side skirts w/louvers, 18" sporty looking wheels, bigger fog lights, spoiler, leather trimmed seats with GT monogrammed in back rest of front seats, premium Monsoon stereo system w/ factory sub in rear, and leather wrapped steering wheel.  The car gets great gas mileage, gets a lot of looks because of its sporty styling. The car is basically the same as a Toyota matrix, the interior is the same, and the engine/ drivetrain is made by toyota also, which last a long time and are dependable.  Only thing I can think of that the car may need is tires balanced, other than that everything is in great shape, fresh oil change, etc.  Selling due to just having a newborn baby and I'm having to be a stay at home dad, and do not need 3 vehicles.  Nada is over $16k, kbb is $15525.  This is a great deal with a lot less miles than most others I have seen for sale.  I reserve right to end auction early due to being for sale locally.  The car hasn't been smoked in and the interior is in great shape with. I rips or tears.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
