2002 sunset orange metallic T/A WS6 M6 with 46,832 original miles. It has a raptor hood which is known as a WS7 hence the rebadging (as opposed to a WS6). This color combination is very rare and with the black interior and 6 speed manual it is one of, if not the most sought after combination on the F-bodies! Its been always garaged with a fitted cover on it and starts/runs with no problems. The A/C still blows cold as well as it was just recently charged. These are the major upgrades but I’m likely leaving out a few. First, the car has stock internals, never touched. I had plans to dive deeper into the engine but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. -Stainless Steel QTP Headers w/High flow merge collectors and EGR bungs welded on but are currently capped off as the EGR was removed -QTP off-road Y-Pipe -QTP Electric Cutout (bolted on but will need to be wired up or run a wireless) -Magnaflow Catback -O2 sims -Custom ported FAST 90mm painted Intake -Nick Williams 90mm TB -Clear MTI Lid -Smooth Bellows -SLP MAF -K&N Airfilter -MSD Wires -NGK TR6 Plugs -Optima yellow top Battery (new) -Pro 5.0 shifter -Lous short stick -Raptor Shift Light -ZO6 PCV Valley Cover -SLP U.D. Pulley -Billet Fuel Rails -Racetronics Pump (currently not installed) -Raptor Hood (painted body color) -Wings West Front ground effect -20% Tinted Windows -Raptor Decals -Taillight Blackouts -Car Cover -Panhard Rod (not yet installed) -Relocation Brackets (not yet installed) -Strut tower brace (painted body color) -Lower nonadjustable rear Control Arms -Triple Pillar Pod (gauges work fine but arent hooked up as I was planning my build still) with: -Boost gauge -Air/fuel ratio -Water temp gauge -Embroidered Headrests -Euro clear front and rear turn signals -I also just changed the front and rear brake pads and also the front rotors. (Replaced with original parts) I have a never installed full Gemini dual nozzle nitrous wet kit that I bought with everything needed and was one of the best when I bought it. I have well over a grand in this nitrous set up alone and everything is still in its original packaging never installed! Which includes: -Full-unopened kit (One of the packages ripped but everything’s there, see pics) -Custom sunset orange (body color) painted nitrous bottle -Custom rear seat hump mount with built in 860 bottle heater -Trick Performance digital window switch -EFI fuel safety switch -Purge -Ash tray hidden switches There’s also a custom stereo that’s insane and costs close to $10K new! Which includes: -Pioneer flip out screen DVD head unit -2 12in JL Audio W6 Subs -2 JL audio amps (1000/1 and 300/2) -Tsunami 1.2 Farad -Tsunami 2 Farad -12 disc changer -Multiple inline fuses -Custom fiberglass box painted the color of the car. It’s also important to note I do have a clear title (in hand), no accidents, I’m the second owner and have owned it for over 10 years now. No door or dashboard cracks. Power headlights/windows work fine. The tires have about 50% life left but will need a replacement eventually as they are the same ones that were on it when I bought it (not stock tires but new at the time) The paints in very good condition but there are the usual rock chips on the front bumper/ground effect and a scuff on one of the side rocker ground effects that was touched up but nothing major and hard to see since its on the bottom (see pics). I had intentions of putting the wings west side ground effects on so I didn’t get it repainted. Theres a small crack in the paint on the rear spoiler from when I briefly set a heavy box on the spoiler (stupid I know, i wasnt happy...but hard to notice, see pics) Theres also a chip in the paint/fiberglass drive side door and small ding in rear passenger quarter(see pics). The power antenna only goes partially up which is common on these and can be replaced with a universal unit, which many people do. The check engine light (SES light) is current on but only because I took off the EGR system. I still have it if you really want to put it back on, if not a tune would get rid of it easily. The only reason Im looking to sell is because we recently moved from Texas and there just isnt enough room where we are now and the car doesnt get driven very often. Not to mention the wife and I are considering buying a truck so ive got to down size a couple vehicles. I do have some of the original parts also that will go with the car.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
