I am downsizing my car collection and this is arguably my nicest one.  I have owned and enjoyed this car for almost 10 years now and it is a beautiful car to show or drive.

INTERIOR-The interior of the car is the only thing I really have not touched.  This is the way it was when I got the car and it is in very good shape.  I noticed on the PHS documents that this car left the factory with blue interior and obviously it has been changed to black.  The seats are in good shape with only minor blemishes that you have to look for.  The seat belts do NOT latch in the buckles in the front seats.  There is a nice CD player in the car and a very nice sound system that sounds awesome.  The pillar trim pieces both have 1" holes where it looks like a tweeter was mounted at one point but not any more.  The dash is in great shape with no cracks.  A grant steering wheel has been added which looks and feels good.  The dome light works but needs to be secured.

EXTERIOR- I had the car completely stripped and painted the original Cameo White.  It cost me over $5000 and anytime the shop called and asked me a question, my answer was whatever was the best for the car.  The paint is awesome!! The front bumper has a couple small little cracks where the grill has rubbed it.  There are a couple minor imperfections...MINOR imperfections.  The hood decal has a place about 1/4 inch where it has a crease.  This car looks absolutely awesome!  The paint shines like new.  I put a set of 15x7 snowflake wheels on the car and the car has new BF Goodrich tires on it. All the lights work and you need to look hard to find something you can call a flaw on the car.  The undercarriage is VERY clean.  No rust and has a thin coat of flat black paint that looks really good.

MECHANICAL- When I got the car the Pontiac 400 ran and sounded pretty well for 4 or 5 years.  One day I noticed white smoke behind the car.  I took it into the shop and they found a cracked piston.  I had the GM dealership pull the motor and go through it completely.  The block and heads were checked, block bored, heads rebuilt, forged pistons and a medium camshaft installed.  Edelbrock intake, rebuild carb and had them sent it down to the Body Shop.  They base coat, clear coated the motor and cleaned and painted the engine bay.  The A/C components are there but not functioning due to at least a leaking condenser and maybe more.  I never really cared. I thought the A/C belt squeaked so I cut it but it turns out the power steering pump isn't lined up perfectly and that is where the belt squeak comes from at times. The turbo-hydramatic transmission shifts great and has no problems. It has ceramic coated headers that look and sound awesome with flowmaster mufflers.  It has a pretty good chop to it with the cam but not over the top.  It sounds AWESOME and runs really well.  I had a set of 3.73 gears installed at the same dealership and that really woke the car up.  It runs similar to the LT1 f-body's I have owned in terms of power/acceleration.  I had the suspension checked and had new leaf springs and shocks/struts replaced.

I will add information as I think of it.  The car was sold right up the road in Lexington, NC new and has really been a joy to drive.  Text Bill with any questions at 704-two,three,two-9252T

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
