1998 Trans Am Roller Non Ram Air on 2040-cars
Whitehouse, Ohio, United States
Here is a 1998 Trans am. It was a parts car that my friend decided to "save" He bought the nicest T tops her could find (scratch free), best tail lights he could find with a great center tail piece. He had the drivers door replaced (original one crack at the hinges), had two new GM window motors installed and replace 90% of the interior. This car has a Monsoon radio with steering wheel controls that light up and work. It also has leather seats that are in like 9.5 out of 10 condition. He spent a lot of time and money on the interior. I'd give the interior a 9.75 out of 10.. He also had the nose repainted (tons of stone chips). The head light motors work great as did the alarm system. The rims have curb rash and the tires are toast. The body is in ok to good shape, there are small dings in the passenger quarter and a 12" long crease in the driver quarter, other than that it is normal light scratches and such from driving 150,000 miles.
This would make either a good drag car or a good shell if you wrecked yours! Or you could part it out and make some $$$ Ok, now the bad; he has cancer so I bought the car for the LS engine and trans, which I have removed for another project. What is gone. Engine, trans, computer and wiring, fuel tank, exhaust, throttle cable, shift cable, radiator and other under hood items that help make the engine run. |

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am
Wed, 15 May 2013When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
