THE CRUISE CONTROL, POWER WINDOWS AND MIRRORS, POWER SEAT, ALL WORK! DOORS CLOSE NICE AND TIGHT. THIS WAS A VIRGINIA CAR, SO IT HAD TO HAVE ANNUAL INSPECTIONS. I HAD THE CAR OUT TODAY WITH THE T-TOPS OUT, GOT A LOT OF LOOKS, AND IT WAS FUN! AFTER IT SITS FOR A FEW DAYS, IT HAS TO BE BOOSTED OFF, NOT SURE WHY, HAVEN'T HAD IT LOOKED AT, BUT I FOUND A BIKE THAT I WANT. THIS HAS THE FACTORY T-TOP BAGS. I ALSO PURCHASED NEW T-TOP GASKETS, NOT INSTALLED BUT I WILL LET THEM GO WITH CAR, I FOUND A NEW SET FOR ABOUT HALF PRICE (150.00). INSTALLED NEW REAR HATCH SHOCKS. I ALSO REPLACED THE FADED CENTER CAPS WITH NEW ONES. THE HOOD VENTS COULD USE REPLACING, BUT THAT'S STRICTLY COSMETIC. HAS A COUPLE OF MINOR DINGS IN THE FRONT FENDERS, BUT OVERALL, A VERY SOLID RIDE, ESPECIALLY AT THIS PRICE! eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
