1980 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am on 2040-cars

Year:1980 Mileage:102000
Location:

Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States

Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States

As is where is (87124). 1 original 1980 Turbo Trans Am. This car is a survivor and in pretty good shape for its age. Originally and always a New Mexico car with virtually no rust anywhere on it. Comes with the original 301 turbo engine that needs work. The engine smokes (burns oil) real bad but does run and will drive itself onto your trailer. I don't know what's wrong with it or care to spend the time finding out. The original spare and a full size one are in the trunk with some misc. spare stuff. The full size spare has a fifth rim like the ones on the car.

The transmission was rebuilt by the owner (his occupation) and works great. Tires are about 75% and all hold air. Seats could use new covers but are in pretty good shape. The headliner sags but the rest of the interior is pretty good. Battery is 2 months old. To the best of my knowledge, everything works. This car is an ideal restoration project due to it's rust free condition but needs paint and TLC. Or you could drop an engine in it and drive it like it is.

I make no warranties to any condition of this car because I'm selling it for a friend. He needs money and I need it out of my back yard. Reserve is set at $2,000.00.  Clean clear title in hand.  $200.00 (non refundable)  deposit within 2 days by paypal upon winning the auction holds car for 10 business days. The rest of the money is due in CASH no more than 14 days after auction end. After 14 days car will be relisted if not picked up. After 14 days, storage is $10.00 per day unless arrangements are made prior to sale.

Good luck and happy bidding to you!!!

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
