HERE IT IS ! IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS 1979 TRANS-AM SILVER ANNIVERSARY 4 SPEED , THEN YOU KNOW THIS IS 1 OF 500. THIS CAR IS UN RESTORED AND THE ONLY TELL TALE SIGNS OF PREVIOUS WORK THAT I HAVE SEEN IS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL. (VIEW PICTURE) THE CAR OVER ALL IS VERY SOLID AND HAS NOT SEEN THE OUTSIDE SINCE AUGUST OF 2006. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR IT STARTED AND RAN STRONG. THE STARTER WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF AGE OR A CORRODED CONNECTION. IT WAS HIT OR MISS WHEN ENGAGING IT.THE MOST SIGNIFIGANT RUST SPOT IS AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE FENDER LOUVER. ( SEE PICTURE ) A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER ARE THE RADIO AND AC COMPRESSOR ARE MISSING. I HAVE THE T-TOP LEATHER BAGS AND EXTRA TAILLAMPS. A RADIATOR AND AC CONDENSOR GOES AS WELL, HOWEVER I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE CORRECT FOR THE CAR. THERE ARE SOME WIRES HANGING UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN. ( MAYBE PREVIOUS AFTER MARKET STEREO ? )THE FRONT GRILLS THAT WOULD GO AROUND THE DRIVING LIGHTS (FOGS )ARE MISSING WITH SOME TYPE OF HOME MADE MESH IN PLACE, THESE WILL PULL RIGHT OUT. THE INTERIOR WARRANTS A COMPLETE REFURBISHMENT (BECAUSE OF THE RARITY OF THE CAR). OVERALL I FEEL THE CAR IS VERY SOLID AND WITH A PROPER REPAINT AND NEW DECALS AND INTERIOR KIT, I THINK YOU WOULD BE DRIVING. THE ENGINE RAN STRONG WITH MAYBE NEEDING VALVE COVER GASKETS ETC... BEFORE REPAINTING BLOCK ETC...PLEASE CALL MIKE WITH QUESTIONS 540 353-2269 ( I AM NOT AN E-MAILER OR LIVE MY LIFE ON E-BAY) SO I WILL TAKE A POTENTIAL BUYER MORE SERIOUS IF I SPEAK TO THEM VS E-MAIL. PLEASE DO NOT BE LIKE BOATING 87 (E-BAY HANDLE ) AND BID AND WIN AND THEN ASK TO SEND PICTURES TO HIM AND THEN BAIL. I AM IN VIRGINIA, SO PLEASE KEEP THAT IN CONSIDERATION WHEN CALLING. THANKS, AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
