This is a totally kick ass for real Trans Am! I absolutely love this car, take great care of her and have driven her often during my 9 years of ownership. Only selling due to an out of state move - so I need to sell her fast.

Know in advance, I used this car exactly the way it was intended as you should if you are a serious buyer. For example, set beer bottles down on the Screamin' Chicken decal while you wash her with your own hands, have rock and roll women climb in through the windows, leave the cigarette butts smeared with lipstick in the ashtray, drive with the windows down in 100 degree Texas heat because if the ole' girl is gonna run hot gosh darn it, so should you!

If you want a black one with T-Tops, join the crowd, get in line. Also, leave her out in the rain a few times, then get back to me about how awesome T-Tops are with their leaks and creaks.

In short, if you want a Trans Am or Firebird that is 100% mint and has long since been sitting in a garage losing it's soul little by little, go find another one.

If, however you are in the market for a rock-solid driver in very good shape (rust free, newly rebuilt original engine 2013, completely replaced braking system) with authentic rock and roll soul - give me an offer.

Details:
I have owned this Trans Am since the Summer of 2006. Her exterior / interior is in great condition, as are the original wheels - hard to find. Newly rebuilt motor, top and bottom end, matching numbers Oldsmobile 403 work done professionally by HCC Performance. Less Than 4,000 miles since rebuild! Comp Cams make her very torquey.

She runs and sounds like a champ - perfect for spring / summer.
Video can be seen on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbXV9Wmp6HM

I have put a lot of work into the mechanical over the years. For example: rebuilt transmission, replaced headers, completely replaced braking systems, master cylinder, replaced all hoses, re-jetted carb, re-sleeved valves, replaced valves & springs, comp cams/lifters, engine at 40 over with flat-top race-style psitons, replaced rockers & sway bar etc.

Always garaged, Looks & runs great, Low mileage, Maintenance records available

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
