1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertible with GTO front clip on it (GTO clone project).  This car was originally the beautiful factory color combo of Bermuda Blue Metallic with Dark Blue Bucket seat interior and a white convertible top.  This car has a non-running Pontiac 350 2bar in it with a Turbo 350 trans.  This car is an original LeMans Sport Convt. which had factory bucket seats and a floor shift console with factory A/C, front disc brakes and a power top.  This car has a good frame under it that looks like it has never been hit or wrecked.  The body on this car is going to need lots of metal work but it restorable.  Included with this car is a pair of repro convertible quarter panel skins.  The trunk floor has holes in it but is mostly there.  The floors have a lot of pin holes and small holes in them but the transmission tunnel is in good shape.  All of the side glass is still in the car (rolled down when pictures were taken).  The doors are off of another LeMans and have some rust in the bottom of them.  This car rolls easy and would be easy to load on a trailer or transport truck.  The top frame is in good condition with the exception on the front top header .... the header is not too bad but it does have some rust in it (they repro this part now so it is easily replaced).  This car has power top and all of the power top stuff is there with the exception of the power top switch.  Parts that are included with this car are:  A pair of repro convertible quarter panels skins, rear convertible seat, rear convertible side panels, front console with lid (no shifter), new convertible top with pads, misc used parts: tail light lens, A/C compressor and bracket, extra rear deck panel with hinges.  I do not have the hood hinges.  The car needs a full resto but would be a great candidate for a restromod project to put a complete new interior in it and maybe an LS motor??  The rearend in the car is the stock rearend.  Basically, what you see in the pictures is what I have for this car.  I don't have the front bucket seats but the console I do have and is included.  If you have any questions you can contact Curtis @ eight one three-seven three two-six zero six eight.

Want to buy a worst-in-show-winning Faux Ferrari Fiero?

Mon, Aug 31 2020

UPDATE: This heap sold for $5,001. But don't fret, there are more terrible cars out there for the taking if that's your thing. Today we bring you something truly terrible. It's not just a fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero, it's actually the world's worst fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero. And it's got the award from the Concours d'Lemons to prove it. It's so heinous, in fact, that it has somehow managed to become desirable, at least judging by the bidding history of this bright red affront to Maranello. Powered by a 140-horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine (covered by an unconvincing and broken fake V12 cover) hooked to an automatic gearbox, this gloriously poor Prancing Horse won't be winning many stoplight drag races. There are bundles of stray wires hanging down from the dashboard, it has high mileage, most of its lights don't work, and it's ugly. Like, really ugly. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. Somehow, bidding has topped $4,000 at the time of this writing. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Tue, Sep 25 2018

Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
