1965 PONTIAC LEMANS PROJECT CAR WITH NO TITLE (WILL COME WITH A BILL OF SALE). I HAVE THE TITLE (OR COPY - CAN'T TELL) OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE ONLY REGISTERED OWNER AS LAST TAG/INSURANCE INFORMATION/REGISTRATION ARE BETWEEN 1983 AND 1984. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN ATLANTA, GA. ON 4/2/65.

THIS IS A SPECIAL PROJECT AS IT IS A P CODE CAR - THE ORIGINAL COLOR IS IRIS MIST WHICH WAS ONLY AVAILABLE IN 1965. THIS IS ALSO A FACTORY A/C CAR WITH POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND BUCKET SEATS/CONSOLE. IT HAS NEW OLD STOCK GOODYEAR EAGLE ST 225/70/14 TIRES WITH S/S CRAGARS UP FRONT, AND NEW OLD STOCK GOODYEAR EAGLE ST 245/60/14 TIRES WITH S/S CRAGARS IN THE REAR. THE TIRES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO DRY ROT (HOWEVER, THEY ARE OLDER TIRES SO I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THEY ARE SAFE). THE WHEELS INCLUDE CENTER CAPS WITH MOST OF THE LUG NUTS BEING IN GOOD CONDITION (MAY NEED A FEW/SEVERAL).

THE CAR ITSELF NEEDS A COMPLETE RESTORATION, THE FLOORS NEED WORK AND THE TRUNK PAN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALL OF THE OTHER PARTS CAN BE REPAIRED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MAYBE THE DRIVER FENDER. THE FRAME IS SOLID. THE TRUNK PANEL BETWEEN THE REAR SEAT AND TRUNK PAN IS SOLID.

THE SEAT COVERS ARE ORIGINAL AND IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITON. THERE A FEW SEAMS THAT NEED REPAIRED, AND THE TOP OF THE REAR SEAT. THE REAR SEAT FRAMES ARE SHOT AND NEED REPLACING. THE DASH IS NOT CRACKED, BUT HAS A FEW IMPERFECTIONS.

THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A 326 2 BARREL ENGINE AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE 2 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, BUT IT IS NOT LOCKED UP. IT IS COMPLETE MINUS THE AIR CLEANER, AND HAS A HARRISON RADIATOR.

IT STILL HAS THE 3 OF THE 4 ORIGINAL STYLE HEADLIGHTS.

Are orphan cars better deals?

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Most folks don't know a Saturn Aura from an Oldsmobile Aurora. Those of you who are immersed in the labyrinth of automobilia know that both cars were testaments to the mediocrity that was pre-bankruptcy General Motors, and that both brands are now long gone. But everybody else? Not so much. By the same token, there are some excellent cars and trucks that don't raise an eyebrow simply because they were sold under brands that are no longer being marketed. Orphan brands no longer get any marketing love, and because of that they can be alarmingly cheap. Case in point, take a look at how a 2010 Saturn Outlook compares with its siblings, the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. According to the Manheim Market Report, the Saturn will sell at a wholesale auto auction for around $3,500 less than the comparably equipped Buick or GMC. Part of the reason for this price gap is that most large independent dealerships, such as Carmax, make it a point to avoid buying cars with orphaned badges. Right now if you go to Carmax's site, you'll find that there are more models from Toyota's Scion sub-brand than Mercury, Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, and Saturn combined. This despite the fact that these brands collectively sold in the millions over the last ten years while Scion has rarely been able to realize a six-figure annual sales figure for most of its history. That is the brutal truth of today's car market. When the chips are down, used-car shoppers are nearly as conservative as their new-car-buying counterparts. Unfamiliarity breeds contempt. Contempt leads to fear. Fear leads to anger, and pretty soon you wind up with an older, beat-up Mazda MX-5 in your driveway instead of looking up a newer Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky. There are tons of other reasons why orphan cars have trouble selling in today's market. Worries about the cost of repair and the availability of parts hang over the industry's lost toys like a cloud of dust over Pigpen. Yet any common diagnostic repair database, such as Alldata, will have a complete framework for your car's repair and maintenance, and everyone from junkyards to auto parts stores to eBay and Amazon stock tens of thousands of parts. This makes some orphan cars mindblowingly awesome deals if you're willing to shop in the bargain bins of the used-car market. Consider a Suzuki Kizashi with a manual transmission. No, really.

Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.
