Up for auction is a 1997
Pontiac Grand Pix that was recently donated to a national charitable foundation
and is being sold with NO
RESERVE. The vehicle is equipped
with a 6cyl engine and automatic transmission. The odometer shows
194,388 miles. It’s fairly well equipped with most of the
options. The seats are gray and appear to be in decent condition,
although a good detail will make a huge difference. The exterior of
the car is green and is showing signs of wear and is faded. It has a
few door dings and scratches. The tires appear to HAVE ROUGHLY 40%
road life left. Please
refer to the photos included in this auction for more description details. This
vehicle runs rough.
This vehicle comes with
a clear California Title and its Registration was valid
through 05/15. All taxes, fees,
and penalties due to the DMV, are the responsibility of the buyer. Smog (California Buyers) If you are a California
resident intending on registering this vehicle in the State of California, AND
not a Dealer, then we will provide you with either a “certificate of compliance” or
a “certificate of
non-compliance” along with the sale. This will allow buyers to pay
the registration fees and tax then transfer the car into their name at the DMV
and provides them with 90 days of temporary registration from the time the
certificate of non-compliance was issued for the vehicle, thus allowing the
buyer time to repair the vehicle and bring it into smog conformity. There will be a 50.00 fee added to your total amount.

information regarding the history or condition of the vehicle other than what
we can see. We do not perform any
physical or mechanical inspections on the vehicle. No vehicles are test driven so we cannot
vouch for any drivability nor condition of the motor or transmission unless it
is evident when the vehicle is dropped off.

result in buyer’s privileges revoked and vehicle to be relisted on ebay.

checks may be used for payment but vehicle will not be released until cashier’s
check clears (up to three business days).

discovered after the purchase of the vehicle there will be no recourse offered

Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Firebird
Sat, May 9 2020From 1967 through 2002, the Pontiac Division offered the Firebird, close sibling to the Chevrolet Camaro. By the third generation, which debuted for the 1982 model year, it became more difficult to tell the two F-body cars apart at a glance and the Pontiac-exclusive engines of the earlier years disappeared, but the Firebird still retained its own personality and its own position in the GM marketing hierarchy. I still find the occasional 1982-1992 Camaro as I search car graveyards for interesting stuff, but the corresponding Firebirds have become scarce in recent years. Here's a base-engine-equipped '87, its Bright Red paint (yes, that was the official name for the color) faded by the Colorado sun as it awaits the crusher. Firebird shoppers had their choice of three engines in 1987: A 5.7-liter Chevy V8 (210 hp), a 5.0-liter Chevy V8 (205 hp) and the same 2.8-liter 60° V6 that went into the Fiero and countless front-drive GM sedans (135 hp). This car has the base engine. The third-gen F-body didn't weigh much (3,105 pounds for the '87 with six-banger, about what a 2020 Corolla weighs), so 135 horses was tolerable. Plenty of these cars got T-5 5-speed manual transmissions, but this one got the two-pedal setup. Camaro wheels, of course. Our Friend the Carburetor didn't disappear from new cars until the early 1990s in the United States, though electronic fuel injection had become very commonplace by 1987. Still, GM considered this car's EFI worth a door-handle brag. It's not worth fixing up a mashed six-cylinder third-gen Firebird, so we can see the route this car took to its final parking space. Junkyard Gem: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
Sun, Nov 28 2021John DeLorean began his career working on Packard's Ultramatic Twin transmission, but he made his greatest mark on the automotive industry during his 1956-1969 tenure at GM's Pontiac Division. There, he helped develop the first production car engine with a quiet timing belt instead of a noisy chain, among other engineering feats, but his real fame came from the development of two money-printing models based more on marketing than machinery: the GTO and the Grand Prix. While the GTO gets all the attention now, the Grand Prix set the standard for the big-selling personal luxury coupes that sold like mad for decades to come. Today's Junkyard Gem is an example of the most powerful Grand Prix available at the turn of the century, found in a Denver-area self-service yard during the summer. The Grand Prix got front-wheel-drive for 1988 and a sedan version for 1990, but then something very beneficial happened in the 1997 model year: supercharging! Various flavors of the venerable 3.8-liter Buick V6 engine (itself based on the early-1960s Buick 215 V8 and thus cousin to the Rover V8) received Eaton blowers, starting in the 1992 model year. The Grand Prix didn't get its introduction to forced induction until the 1997 model year, but it kept the boosted option until the final Grand Prix rolled off the line in 2008 (the final Pontiac followed within a couple of years). This one made 240 horsepower, making it King of Grand Prix engines until the 2005 model year (when the GXP and its 303-horse V8 engine showed up). The very last year for a Grand Prix with a manual transmission was 1993 (there had been a three-pedal Grand Prix drought from 1973 through 1988, just to put things in perspective), so this car has the mandatory four-speed automatic. The Grand Prix lived on GM's W platform for its last two decades, making it sibling to the Impala, Regal, and Intrigue in 2001. Until the 2004 model year, every W-Body Grand Prix was built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas City (no, the other Kansas City). Production of the final generation of Grand Prix took place in Ontario. It seems fitting that this car's final pre-crusher parking spot would be between two other GM products of the same era: a Monte Carlo and a Vibe. Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
