Owned for 10 years and have totally restored it form top to bottom. Finished it about 4 years ago and have been nit picking at it ever since. Virtually everything has been rebuilt or replaced. I have over 30,000 dollars worth of receipts and have invested about 40,000 dollars in the car, excluded my labor.

Engine is a 68-69 date coded 400 code WT that is a service replacement block rebuilt 2 years ago by Martin Von Almen, who has restored over 100 GTO's in his career. Heads are code 48. Transmission is muncie 4 speed.  Rear end is 323 open. The entire drive train was rebuilt. The interior has been totally restored. I have the PHS documentation and build sheet that I found under the rear seat. The options on this car are power steering, power breaks, four speed, console, remote antenna, hide-away headlights (totally rebuilt).

I could go on and on, but I've rebuilt or replaced just about everything on this car. It has new BF Goodrich radial TA's. I have a very fair reserve for this car.

Upon purchase, $500 down via PayPal. The car will be released to you once the funds clear the bank. You will be very happy with this car. I've put my heart and soul in it in the last ten years. There is virtually nothing left to do to this car.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!

ALL NEW ON GTO:
 quarter panels,
inner wheel wells,
 fenders have patch panels,
 new hood,
valise panel,
 radiator core support,
 re-chromed bumper
door skins

Online Find: 1970 Pontiac Firebird Concept, cousin of the Weinermobile

Thu, Mar 26 2015

So there's this for sale over at Hemmings: the 1970 Pontiac Firebird One concept designed by Harry Bentley Bradley and built by Dave Crook. For sale at the time of writing in Bellevue, Washington for $94,950, most of the seller's description appears to be pulled from a 2001 Barrett-Jackson listing, when the car was sold at auction for $61,600. Before we get to the car, it helps to know the man behind it: Bradley was a designer at General Motors from 1962 to 1966 who, against company policy, continued to submit designs to Hot Rod magazine under an assumed name. Mattel poached him in 1966 to design its brand new toy line called Hot Wheels, and Bradley designed all of them except one. He only stayed at Mattel for a year because he didn't think Hot Wheels would be successful, then left to start his own design company. Among other works, he penned the most recent example of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Now can you see the Firebird One's design language? Since it apparently has a letter of documentation from GM design staff, we'll assume that GM asked the then-freelancing Bradley to work some magic on its muscle car, this being the totally Hot-Wheels influenced result. There are 17,456 miles on its 255-horsepower, 350 cubic-inch V8. The interior has tan leather, custom bucket seats, a wood grain dash, and one of the most awkward spare tire placements ever. The seller assures all prospective buyers that it is, like the Death Star, "fully operational."

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
