What I have here is a 1966 Pontiac Gto Tribute car. This is a Original 20,813 mile rock Solid Lemans that was converted over to a Gto over the last 10 years and $45000 later is a Gto. The Vehicle was bought from South Carolina back in 1999 with 19,231 miles and clearly shows on the copy of title I have. The car then went through a long and costly restoration to make into a Gto, the paint job and body work alone were over $15,000. A gto hood rear tail panel were added and this car is rock solid no rust ever, floors and frame are excellent and no work was done to them. The motor is a 455 that was totally redone balanced and blue printed with 6 x heads that were redone, offenhauser intake, 750 carter carb, distributer rebuilt and recurved with petronix headers and horsepower is a solid 450 and over 500lbs of torque. The trans is a 350 with a 2400 stall speed converter that was rebuilt same time as the motor. It has a stock non posi 10 bolt rear, this is the only performance item I did not replace as I wasn't looking to race around in the car, just take it for nice long rides and show it.
On Feb-03-13 at 11:32:06 PST, seller added the following information:
To answer a few questions..The car has never been washed in 8 years, stays in the garage covered up with a car cover and comforters. It was a cloudy day so the pictures are not the best. I can email more pictures when the sun comes out. Also,Yes I have pictures of the title from 99 and currently with the miles stated. The car is my wifes car and it has a small payoff through a credit union, not a big deal. Check our feedback, I have sold off $500,000 worth of classics over the years. This is one we wanted to try and keep, but were looking for to build a garage so some cars have to go. I will tell you that it will hard to find a nicer car for the money, and yes to answer a few questions already on adding a buy it now we are open to offers. I can text more pictures or anything else.. And the underside of the car is that nice, no under coating, no heavy black paint, no surface rust hiding any where..This is really nice original solid car...

1970 Firebird Trans-Am with front-mid-engine to be immortalized as a Hot Wheels car
Mon, Nov 30 2020Each year, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour scours the country to find the coolest real-life cars and chooses one to be made into a $1 diecast toy. Earlier this month, the search came to an end when Riley Stair's heavily modified 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am won the honors. In a normal year, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour would visit multiple cities, holding a car show where judges would select one winner for that stop. At SEMA, each city's winner would then compete for the top spot. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the contest was held virtually and globally. And since SEMA was canceled too, the finale was held on the "Jay Leno's Garage" YouTube channel with Leno, Snoop Dogg, Gabriel Iglesias, and Hot Wheels designers as judges. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. What set the Firebird apart was, for starters, its front-mid-engine layout. Its LSX V8 was pushed so far back into the firewall that one bank of exhaust headers had to flow forward before curving around the front of the engine to a side-dump. Of course, all of this was custom fabricated, like the roll cage and front tube frame, with professional-grade welds. The body was also heavily modified, flared and channeled to give it a mean stance. But it's the custom Ohlins suspension with independent rear that give it its track-ready look. Perhaps most impressively, this car, which could go toe-to-toe against (and frankly exceed many) six-figure pro builds at SEMA, was built in the side yard of Stair's parents' house. Aside from body and paint, this was a shadetree job. Stair says it took a couple of years, devoting nearly every night and weekend to transforming a rusty and dented Firebird into his dream machine. Other finalists included a Street Freak-style 1969 Corvette from Florida, cartoony 1959 Chevy Ute nicknamed the "Hulk-amino", Rocket Bunny-style Cayman, 1,000-horsepower Chevy Apache, V8-powered Mini Cooper, stanced Fiat 126 from Germany, chopped VW Brasilia from Mexico, and a race-ready 1976 Hillman Imp from the U.K. Cars were judged on creativity, authenticity, and built-not-bought spirit. Look for the Trans-Am to appear in the 2021 Hot Wheels lineup. Related Video: Featured Gallery Hot Wheels Legends Tour 2020 View 16 Photos Toys/Games Pontiac Coupe Performance Classics
CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero
Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed.
