Up for sale is a Restored 1968 Pontiac GTO
the rust spots and replaced them with new sheet metal.I bought a new hood,new front driver's side fender and a new rear bumper for the car.We worked on this car everyday [except sunday] for three months.Tim had over 600 hrs in the bodywork alone.By the middle of August we had the car ready for paint.The car was painted in Solar Red,a factory 1968 color,three base coats,three coats of clear.Replaced the 400 engine with a 455 engine out of a
72 pontiac,put the correct code 16 heads[350 hp heads] on the engine along with a 7qt oil pan.Rebuilt the 455 engine in 20008,bored the block 30 over,bought a set of Keith Black pistons from Butler Performance in Tennessee,also put a set of aluminum roller rockers from Doug Herbert Performance Center.Put a set of disc brakes from Stainless Steel Brakes in the front and replaced all the bushing in the front end and gave the car a front end alinement ,did this in 2010.In 2011 bought a set of original 1968 hood scoops,had the back plates removed and installed a ram air kit from Ames Performance,along with dual electric fans from flex-a-lite.In 2012 had all the glass replaced from Auto City Classic,INC out of MN.Everything on this car has been replaced or been rebuilt.This is not a show car or trailer queen.I drive this car to a lot of cruise- ins and car shows.I would classify this car as a high end driver.This car had 18,000 miles on the speedometer when I bought it, it has 25,000 miles now,less than 3,000 miles since motor was rebuilt .This car has always been garaged and well maintained.You wouldn't find a nicer 68 goat around, matching numbers or not. Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
