2009.5 Pontiac G8 Gxp Sedan 4-door 6.2l M6 on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States

If you are looking at this listing, you probably already know something about this car. Pontiac's last great muscle car and certainly their greatest car of the modern era. In short, it is a full size, four door sedan with enough room for the family and big trunk, packing a 415hp/415tq LS3 engine and a six-speed manual transmission. This type of car has unfortunately become quite difficult to find.
I am the original owner, non-smoking purchased in the Chicago metro area and lives there still. The interior is like-new and the exterior is in very good condition. I have never had a mechanical issue, oil always changed with Mobil 1 synthetic. It is due for some 60k maintenance but I will leave that to the new owner. It is currently wearing 18" wheels with Continental ContiWinterContact tires. I will also include the original chrome GXP 19" wheels and tires, though at least two of the summer-only factory tires have leaks and all four original wheels have some curb damage (unfortunate side effect of parking in the city). Never at the racetrack though it would be at home there and most of the miles are from traveling the Midwest for my job. The exterior paint is good, with some small rock chips in the hood, a minor scratch on the driver's door, and a scuff on the lower front bumper (see photos). The rear bumper had some marks from city parkers so I had it repainted and it looks great. Title is clear. Wheels aside, the car is completely free of aftermarket parts. I really love this car and am only selling it because I am moving to NYC. It is quite difficult to find a full size sedan with a powerful engine, great handling, and manual transmission. Handling is extremely responsive for full size, with power oversteer always on tap and very predictable. It is an absolute joy to drive. There were only 1829 Pontiac G8 GXPs produced. My research tells me this car is one of 30 with the combination of Panther Black Metallic, Onyx interior, no sunroof, and M6 transmission. Please read the reviews and do the research, it is a great car. Watch this video of Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear flogging the UK version which was sold as a Vauxhall, which I might add had a smaller 6.0L engine and does not look as nice as the Pontiac GXP trim. http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos/vauxhall-vxr8 It is a truly historic car and very fun to drive while being totally practical. I have done my best to include everything but feel free to contact with any questions. Car may be driven so mileage may not be exact. GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs
Thu, Aug 20 2015General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. Woman Cleared In Fatal Car Wreck After GM Letter
Tue, Nov 25 2014A Texas judge cleared a woman Monday for a car accident that killed her fiance in 2004, after General Motors acknowledged that her car would have been among millions being recalled for a problem that may have contributed to the death. Candice Anderson was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion when it suddenly veered off a road about 60 miles east of Dallas and slammed into a tree. Anderson, then 21, was severely injured when the car's air bags failed to deploy. Her 25-year-old fiance, Gene Erikson, who was a passenger, was killed. She later pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the wreck. But during a hearing Monday, State District Judge Teresa Drum expunged the conviction from her record, according to officials in the Van Zandt County court andAnderson's attorney, Bob Hilliard. In a letter given to the court ahead of the hearing, an attorney for the automaker confirmed that Anderson's Saturn would have been among 2.6 million GM vehicles recalled in February to address ignition switches that can slip out of the "run" position, causing the engines to stall and disabling power steering, brakes and air bags. Anderson's crash "is one in which the recall condition may have caused or contributed to the frontal air bag non-deployment in the accident," attorney Richard C. Godfrey wrote. Hilliard provided a copy of the letter to The Associated Press, and Godfrey confirmed its contents Monday. Anderson was initially charged with criminally negligent homicide because there was no clear explanation at the time why the wreck occurred, according to court documents from the case. She pleaded guilty to a letter charge in 2006, and was sentenced to five years' probation. She also was ordered to perform 260 hours of community service, pay court costs and cover the costs of Erikson's funeral. "GM knew this defect caused this death, yet instead of telling the truth watched silently as Candice was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter," Hilliard said Monday. "It took 10 years for GM to find its voice." In a separate statement issued by the company, GM said it "cooperated fully by providing technical information that was requested to make a decision in this matter." The carmaker also said the issue in Anderson's case was for local law enforcement and courts to consider. "That's why we took a neutral position on Ms. Anderson's case," the company's statement said. "It was appropriate for the court to determine the legal status of Ms.
Junkyard Gem: 1992 Pontiac Sunbird convertible, with extremely rad W25 Appearance Package
Sun, Dec 22 2019Radwood has sparked a revival in the appreciation of goofy 1980s and 1980s automotive fashions, from neon-colored tape stripes to excessive TURBO badging to ads featuring horrifying Nagel-style women with radio faceplates instead of eyes. I see a lot of discarded cars that would have been ideal to bring to Radwood, and today's Junkyard Gem is even radder than, say, a purple Mercury Tracer Trio or a teal Chevy Beretta GT or even the elusive Dodge Daytona IROC R/T (yes, there were IROC Daytonas): a genuine Pontiac Sunbird SE convertible with the W25 Appearance Package and Bright White Star wheels. The W25 package got you a white Sunbird with kicky script badging, white wheels, and — if you opted for the optional 3.1-liter V6 — these candy-cane-influenced red-and-white displacement badges on the fenders. Now this is rad! The white interior got dirty fast, especially if the owner left the convertible top down, and these wheels were tough to keep clean for more than a few hours. This one appears to have spent many years sitting abandoned with the top down, judging by the completely trashed interior. The base engine for 1992 was the good old Cavalier four-banger, complete with 111 horsepower. This 3.1-liter engine made a respectable-for-1992 140 horses, for plenty of torque-steery, tire-squealy fun. As a J-Body car, the Sunbird was a sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier in 1992 (the J-based Cadillac Cimarron, Oldsmobile Firenza, and Buick Skyhawk departed before the end of the 1980s). Starting in 1994, the Pontiac Sunfire replaced the Sunbird, continuing in production all the way through the demise of the J platform in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party.
