ORIGINAL HARD TO FIND 455 FIREBIRD FORMULA WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND POSI. IT HAS AN ORIGINAL FIBERGLASS HOOD, I WAS TOLD FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER THAT IT HAS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE BUT NOT SURE. THE NUMBERS ON THE BLOCK ARE AS FOLLOWS: THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE BLOCK IS MARKED 036626 YW, BACK PASSENGER SIDE IS MARKED 485428. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD IS MARKED D093, DRIVERS SIDE HEAD IS MARKED D263. IT HAS A HOLLEY 4 BARREL DOUBLE PUMPER 3310 3 1341., EDELBROCK INTAKE AND A DEEP MOROSO OIL PAN. IT HAS A 10 BOLT POSI, NOT SURE OF GEARS. THE TIRES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE (SIZE 225/60/15). NEW TRIM RINGS, REPAINTED RALLY WHEELS TO THE CORRECT COLOR. THE ENGINE HAS HEADERS, HEI IGNITION. CAR HAS FRONT DISC BRAKES AND DUAL EXHAUST. THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR IS BASICALLY SOLID BUT A LITTLE SCALEY, 1 SMALL HOLE(SMALLER THAN A DIME) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TRUNK FLOOR. THE EXTERIOR IS BURGUNDY AND THE PAINT HAS SCRATCHES AND FLAKING ON THE ENDURO NOSE (AS PICTURED). NO DAMAGE. THE INTERIOR IS BLACK IN COLOR, SOME PARTS WERE DYED. I BELIEVE THIS CAR WAS GOLD WITH A TAN INTERIOR(NOT 100% SURE). THIS CAR HAS HAD A RECENT TUNE-UP AND RUNS STRONG AND IS VERY FAST. OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WON'T START AFTER A LONG DRIVE, STARTER HEATS UP. THIS COULD BE SOLVED BY PUTTING IN A HEAT SHIELD OVER THE STARTER. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN GONE THROUGH (NEW POWER BOOSTER), BRAKES ARE A LITTLE WEAK DUE TO THE LACK OF VACUUM CAUSED BY THE CAM. WOULD RECOMMEND A VACUUM CANISTER TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, THERE ARE NO CRACKS IN THE GLASS, DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS NEED SOME WORK, OCCASIONALLY STICK. I BELEVE THE CAR HAD NEW REAR QUARTERS INSTALLED ONE TIME IN ITS LIFE. I TOOK A MAGNET TO EVERY BODY PANEL OF THE CAR AND IT STUCK TO ALL EXCEPT THE LOWER PART OF THE DRIVERS DOOR. ORIGINAL AM RADIO-DOES NOT PLAY, WINDSHIELD WASHERS DUE NOT WORK. THE FRONT SEATS HAVE SOME SPLITS ON THE BOTTOM SEAT CUSHIONS AND THE CONSOLE HAS SOME CRACKS. I DON'T WANT TO MAKE THIS CAR SOUND BAD BUT WANT TO MAKE THE BUYER AWARE OF ANY FLAS I KNOW OF. . DEFINATELY A FUN FAST CAR THAT WITH SOME FRESH PAINT AND TLC COULD BE A GREAT INVESTMENT. THIS IS A 40 YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND NOT PERFECT. THESE BIG BLOCK CARS ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE RARER EVERYDAY. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND GOOD LUCK!!

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
Porsche Syberia RS rally car is what you make when you need a Hummer that's fast
Fri, Apr 24 2020Some history: The Porsche 911's first-ever race was the 1965 Monte Carlo rally, entered because Porsche's PR man at the time wanted to show how much the future icon could do. A year later, Porsche began selling an optional rally kit for the 911 that included Recaro seats, a roll bar, and adjustable Koni dampers. Porsche produced factory rally racers until the early 1970s, winning Monte Carlo three times in a row before letting privateers carry the torch so the factory could focus on campaigning in the East Africa Safari. After years of painful lessons, when Porsche took its brand-new 1978 911 SC to the safari, the 3.0-liter flat-six coupe was hours away from winning the race before damaging the suspension, demoting the car to second place. Porsche fans wanted their own replicas, and finding the new 911 to be an affordable option, the SC — built from 1978 to 1983 — went from denoting "Super Carrera" to "Safari Car."  Porsche took a big step up in with the 953 rally car. Built to win the 1984 Paris-Dakar, which it did, the 953 introduced the four-wheel-drive system Porsche would evolve for the 959 in 1985 and the 964-series 911 in 1989, as well as the now-unforgettable 911-based Rothmans livery. All of this is what's fueling today's 911 Safari Car revival around the world. Almost all of today's builds start with the so-called G Model 911s, produced from 1973 to 1989, usually focusing on the SC and the Carrera that ran from 1984 until 1989. Fast forward to 2007 when a mysterious crew organized the TransSyberia Rally, a "sports-touring" event that stretched 4,500 miles from Moscow to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Of the 34 vehicles that entered, 25 were Porsche's purpose-built Cayenne S Transsyberia Edition. Put this all in a pot and you have the beginnings of the car that brings us here, the Syberia RS. It's said that a German fellow by the name of Kai Burkhard wanted to buy a Humvee, but the low top speed, around 50 miles per hour, put him off. So instead, he imported a 1986 911 "in collector condition" from Japan with the idea of rebuilding it to provide almost all the off-road fun he could have had in the H1. Burkhard tapped the Tailor Made department at German suspension designer H&R, and the two set to work creating a build like the 953 Dakar winner. This content is hosted by a third party. General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
