I am selling my 1998 Pontiac Trans Am that I purchased in 2002 with 50,000 miles (2 Owners)

The Good:
Never smoked in.  The vehicle has 217000 miles and runs exceptionally well!
Original LS1 engine, Original Transmission as well.

Magna-Flow Performance Exhaust and Cat-Backs (installed less than 500 miles ago), cost was $500.00 + installation..sounds nice!

T-tops, Traction Control, Power Antenna traction Control, Firestone Tires with at least 50% tread left

Monsoon premium sound stereo, 6 disc CD changer

All stock with exception of K&N air filter, SLP strut brace, Magna-flow exhaust, Bilstein shocks, Oil changed every 5k miles with Mobil-1 Synthetic oil only.

Now for the Bad:

-Mechanically, Needs a new driver-side brake line, and could use a complete brake job. (Rotors are Power-Slot slotted/drilled, and Hawk carbon-ceramic pads)

-Turn Signals do-not work (left and right), however the hazard flashers do work

-Drivers side window sometimes gets stuck, but eventually rolls up (this is typical with these vehicles needing a new window motor)  The passenger window works fine

-Two minor cracks on dash, one near air vent and the other near center dashboard heater/defroster vent

This vehicle will be a great 1st car, or a nice race car project!

Please see the photos and ask any questions that you may have!!

Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Tue, Sep 25 2018

Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
