UP FOR SALE IS MY BEAUTIFULL 1994 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA EQUIPPED WITH THE BULLETPROOF LT-1 ENGINE...
I'VE OWNED MY FORMULA SINCE 2003, WHEN I PURCHASED IT IT HAD 43 K ON IT..I HAVE PUT LESS THAN 7000 MILES ON IT SINCE THEN, AND IT HAS NEVER SEEN RAIN, SNOW OR WINTER AS IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AND COVERED.
I AM A 50+ YEAR OLD OWNER, NON-SMOKER, AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED, AND HAS BEEN BABIED THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE OWNED IT,
THE PAINT JOB IS FANTASTIC, I GIVE IT A 9.5 OUT OF 10. THE LEATHER SEATS ARE IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION, AND I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL LIKE NEW MATS.
I ADDED SLP CHROME 17" WHEELS ( NOT REPLICAS, ACTUAL SLP WHEELS ). THE RUBBER HAS LESS THAN 5K ON THEM.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, ALL FLUIDS WERE REPLACED LESS THAN 2K AGO.
I HAVE USED ONLY 5W-30 SYNTHETIC OIL, USUALLY CHANGED WITH 1000 MILE INTERVALS AS I MONITORED OIL CHANGES BY TIME AND NOT MILEAGE.
THE CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL AND STOCK AND THE OEM 16 " PONTIAC FORMULA WHEELS AND RUBBER WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE.
A 3 POINT EDELBROCK STRUT TOWER BRACE HAS BEEN ADDED FOR RIGIDITY AND BETTER HANDLING.
I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE OPTI SPARK WITH A BRAND NEW DELCO UNIT AND WILL PROVIDE ALL RECEIPTS.
YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A NICER FORMULA ANYWHERE...THE LT-1 ENGINE HAD THE DELCO PLUGS AND WIRES REPLACED LESS THAN 3 K AGO AND RUNS PERFECTLY.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?
Fri, May 27 2016When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
